Celebrating Spring for the Be Inspired Blog Hop

Before I jump into today’s project, I want to gently remind you that today is the last day of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Sale-a-Bration. I already know I’ll receive one or two “I forgot!” messages tomorrow morning, but I hope one of them doesn’t come from you (because you are seeing this now and excited to jump on the opportunity. ♥

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are finding inspiration in the seasons. I’ve shared several Autumn and Winter projects over the past couple of weeks, so I decided to celebrate Spring for today’s hop. Sweet colors and vibrant butterflies are a staple of Spring, so I reached back into the 2022 Annual Catalog for the Best Butterflies Bundle and Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. What fun! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.

Sending Love with Best Butterflies

There’s nothing Autumn-y about the card I’m sharing today. This card showcases a duo of sweet butterflies and a patchwork background with some of the sweet patterns in the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here’s my Spring card for today’s blog hop:

Best Butterflies Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe butterflies are cropped with the Build a Butterfly Dies, part of the Best Butterflies Bundle. They are quirky and cute – and I love them! I lightly peppered the background behind the butterflies with dots from the stamp set and Fresh Freesia ink. The sentiment is from the Best Butterflies photopolymer stamp set, which I also love. One of the sentiments says “sending good vibes” and one of the sentiments says “all the love.” With just a little masking tape, I was able to isolate the words I wanted for the “sending love” on this card. Here’s a look at the Best Butterflies Bundle:

Best Butterflies Bundle, Stampin Up! 159120The sentiment and butterflies are fun, but did you see the patchwork background I created on this card? I cut 1″ x 2″ pieces from four pages of the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to build this 4″ x 4″ panel:

Creating a fun quilt pattern on a card, Stampin Up!, Brian KingFun, huh? While I eventually cover over the center of this design, it’s an important part of this card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

Best Butterflies Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingAll of the colors on this card are pulled from the Butterfly Kisses 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and I love them all together – it’s an unexpected combination of beautiful colors. If you like this mix of Fresh Freesia, Parakeet Party, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
