When you first met Sweet Sorbet, you likely didn’t think “THAT is my go-to color for Christmas this year!” It’s a soft, sweet red – and it’s perfect for the Holidays. 🙂 With some great products from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, I made a Christmas card with a light touch of Sweet Sorbet (OK, maybe it wasn’t such a light touch of the beautiful red). Here’s my card:
My card combines elements from two bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog: the jumbo candy canes are stamped and cropped with the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle, and the sentiments on the card are stamped with the Christmas Banners stamp set. Here’s a look at the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle, which includes the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set and coordinating Candy Canes Dies:

I stamped “MERRY” over and over and over and over on the 3″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock to give my candy canes a fun foundation. The words appear from the left side of the paper to create a fun pattern. Here’s a closer look:
It’s a very Merry panel, isn’t it?! The Sweet Sorbet candy canes are a perfect focal point on this fun panel, don’t you think? I gave the candy canes a Sweet Sorbet Stylish Shapes circle and accented the card with three Sweet Sorbet dots from the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots. Here’s a closer look:
As if all of those elements didn’t provide enough Sweet Sorbet for this card, I added a Sweet Sorbet panel of the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper behind my focal panel – a perfect backdrop! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper:
Bundles: Sweet Candy Canes Stamps: Sweet Candy Canes, Christmas Banners Papers: Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, Sweet Sorbet, Basic White, Thick Basic White Inks: Sweet Sorbet Accessories: Candy Cane Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The “merry, merry, merry” is very, very, very cool!
Thank you so much, Mary, Mary, Mary! ♥
Beautiful!
How did you get the MERRY stamp so evenly spaced?
The stamp is a photopolymer stamp, so it’s perfectly see through. With A LOT of care and patience, the words can line up perfectly. If you don’t like that level of precision, you could stamp the words over and over and over to build a pattern.
Brian, I LOVE this! Our colors play so well with each other but this shows they stand out alone as well. TFS
Thanks so much, Nancy! I love monochromatic cards – it’s fun to play with all the same-color products we have. So glad you like it. ♥
Sweet Sorbet is a very upbeat red color for Christmas. It is beautiful on this card, Brian. I also love the DSP layer. Enjoy your day!
Thanks so much, my friend! I’m so happy you like it and hope your day has been great!
I have no clue how you stamped merry so perfectly so many times! Red ink is my nemesis! Pretty card!
Red inks are SO RICH, so they can be messy. I was very, very (very, very) careful with this – especially after I got half-way through. 🙂 I fanned each one, paused and breathed between each. Thanks!
Fun background and sweet card!
Thanks, Windy! I was half-way through the card before I decided to add the candy canes – the color choice helped make that choice easy. ♥
Beautiful card and colour Brian. love it.
Thanks so much, Faith! ♥
Beautiful Christmas card! I love those big candy canes. It makes my heart merry merry merry!
I wasn’t too keen on the candy canes at first, but they’ve really grown on me – so fun and easy to work with. Who doesn’t love a candy cane? ♥
Thanks for this sweet treat! Love it!
I cane’t imagine Christmas without candy! See what I did there?! 🙂 Thanks, Chris!
