Grateful for Stampin’ Up!’s Rustic Harvest

When November rolls around each year, we are reminded of all the things we have to be thankful for. Those good things are around all us year, but we sometimes forget to recognize them and how important they are in our lives. You might not send Thanksgiving cards, but it’s hard to stay away from the beautiful pages of Stampin’ Up!’s Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, which are perfect for a simple thank you card. Here’s a card I made with one page from these gorgeous papers:

Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI looked for this page of pumpkins a couple weeks ago, but I was pretty sure I had used up the entire page. I was wrong – as I came across it in a small stack of random pages. Yay! Here’s a look at the colors and beautiful patterns in the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper:

Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King 159633I started with a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of pumpkin-filled Designer Series Paper. I cropped two squares out of the middle with the Stylish Shapes Dies (one is a 2-3/8″ square and the other is a 1″ square). I had planned to layer the paper on all three panels (with a thin strip of Cajun Craze cardstock around each), but that was toooooo busy. I, thus, decided to replace the middle panel with a Crumb Cake cutout. Ahhhh! That gave me just what I wanted.

I could have cut into the Designer Series Paper with my Paper Trimmer by starting to cut inside the borders of the paper, but it would have been nearly impossible to center the squares on the paper. That’s where the square dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies came in handy. These are my most-used dies this year (since they debuted in the 2022 Annual Catalog). Here’s a look at the Stylish Shapes Dies:

The sentiment on my card is pulled from the Painted Pheasant stamp set, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. “GRATEFUL” seems to say it all – it’s perfect for Thanksgiving cards, and it’s perfect for year-round thank you cards. Here’s a look at the Painted Pheasant stamp set:

Painted Pheasant, Stampin Up! 159846There are three colors represented in the page of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper I chose for this card – Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Basic Black. I added another neutral tone with a Crumb Cake card base, extra panel and sentiment – such a great complement to the other colors. If you like the mix of Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
