Thanks! for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

11-22 - InKing Royalty Blog Hop - Thanks

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and we’ve made projects that say “thanks!” to special people in our lives. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

A Sweet Sorbet Thanks

When I sat down to make today’s card, I immediately knew I wanted to showcase the big, bold “thanks” from the Season of Chic stamp set. I was all set to make a Fall-themed card with brown leaves and beautiful yellows, but my thoughts turned to Christmas somewhere along the journey. Here’s my card for today’s hop:

Season of Chic, Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King I’m a risk taker (which you know is not true). I wanted the heat-embossed sentiment to “carve itself out” of the inky swoosh, so I stamped the swoosh with Sweet Sorbet ink and then set it aside to let the ink dry completely. When I started to feel good that the ink was dry, I heat embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. So risky! What if that ink wasn’t fully dried? Would I end up with a speckled swoosh? Only time would tell – and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

Season of Chic, Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingBoth the swoosh and the sentiment are pulled from the Season of Chic stamp set, part of the Season of Chic Bundle. Here’s a look at this bundle, which includes the Season of Chic stamp set and INCREDIBLE Chic Dies:

Season of Chic Bundle, Stampin Up! 158816 The panels behind my “thanks swoosh” are Sweet Sorbet patterns from the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in this delightful pack of papers:

Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King 159559As with many cards I make, the layers just kept layering in. In total, there are nine layers of paper on this card (including the base). If you like this layout, here are the measurements for the layers on this card:

  • Sweet Sorbet – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (scored at 4-1/4″)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Thick Basic White – 5″ x 3-3/4″
  • Sweet Sorbet – 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″
  • Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper (candy stripes) – 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″
  • Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper (white diamonds) – 4″ x 3-1/2″
