For a Special Person with Framed Florets

Yesterday was filled with “meetings.” From 1:00 to 2:00, Emma and I hosted our bonus call for the last Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit – it’s always great to see what people made with the kits and what techniques or tips they learned. Many share new ideas during the call – and we chat a bit. That was followed by a 3:00 to 5:00 call with my InKing Royalty team as we made three projects with the new products in the Fitting Florets Collection (I mailed out little kits last week, and we made the cards during our call). Here’s one of the cards:

Framed Florets Bundle, Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThis card features stamps and dies from the Framed Florets Bundle, an early-release bundle that will also be available in Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog – but why wait when you can have it now?! Here’s a look at the Framed Florets Bundle, which includes the Framed Florets Photopolymer Stamp Set and Framed Florets Dies:

Framed Florets Bundle, Stampin Up! 162407The center of my card features the oval shown above with the four florets on the top, bottom and sides and the oval that’s cropped from the center. I added two flowers (stamped with the stamp set and cropped with the dies) to the bottom corner of the oval after I had brushed the oval with Balmy Blue ink using my Blending Brush. The additional blue gave a light accent to the flowers that would be positioned on top. I stamped the sentiment with Balmy Blue and stamped flowers on the Balmy Blue panel below the ovals for added texture.

I added two pieces of the limited-release Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper to the two side panels on the card. I love this paper – if you don’t have it now, you are going to wish you had it when the paper is sold out or discontinued. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper:

Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 161814I don’t often make fancy fold cards, but I knew my team would enjoy this one. It’s simple to make, but it looks so, so fancy. The two panels on the side tuck under the central panel so that the final card (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) fits nicely in a Medium Envelope. Here’s a look at how the card folds:

Framed Florets Bundle, Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHere are the measurements of the base and first layers on this card:

  • Thick Basic White – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2 (score 2″ from each side and then flip over to score 3-1/8″ from each side). Alternatively, you can score at 2″, 3-1/8″, 5-3/8″ and 6-1/2″.
  • Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper – 2 panels at 1-3/4″ x 5-1/4″.
  • Balmy Blue – 2″ x 5-1/5″

While most of the card is Balmy Blue and Basic White, I added Daffodil Delight flowers with Old Olive Leaves (thanks to Stampin’ Blends) to add a little extra brightness to the card. If you like this mix of Brights, Subtles and Regals colors as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
