It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!
For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are creating projects inspired by a color combination that’s pretty popular this time of year. We are creating projects with a mix of reds and greens. How fun! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.
A Season Decorated with Happiness & Wonder
Greens and reds…I have used a lot of rich, regal greens this season, so I decided to mix bright greens and bright reds on my card today. To further allow them to pop on my card, I built a muted, neutral-toned background to best showcase them. Here’s my card:
My card features a sentiment and some amazing pine branches from the Decorated with Happiness Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog and retiring soon. Here’s a look at this incredible bundle:

Now I’m going to walk you through how I built this card in three easy steps.
STEP ONE: With 1/4″ strips of Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray cardstocks, create a pattern on a scrap piece of paper (I used a piece of copy paper and then cut to the edges). I framed this 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ panel with Thick Basic White cardstock. The neutral tones allow the greenery and bright sentiment to shine.
STEP TWO: Add an assortment of greenery that will pop out from above and below the sentiment. I held them together with strips of tape and then glued the to the tiled panel. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the flattest parts of the greenery at the center and then placed the sentiment on top (vs. adding the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the oval and trying to fit it on the greenery).
STEP THREE: I heat-embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Heat Tool. I cropped the sentiment with one of my Framed Florets Dies. I accented to sentiment oval with Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
How easy was that?!
Here’s a look at the neutral tones I used to build the backdrop for my pines and my sentiment. While Sahara Sand has more brown than gray in it, the color played well with Smoky Slate, Gray Granite and Basic Gray.
The bright greens and reds I showcased are VERY bright – and I love them very much. If you like this mix of Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
