Sometimes a kind word of loving support can mean everything to the people we love. During the darkest days of the pandemic, we actively checked in on each other (even if not in person) and prioritized self-care. As we get farther from those days, it’s just as important to encourage each other to be kind and to remind our loved ones how much they are loved. When I first saw the Growth Takes Time stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives, I fell in love with the beautiful images and the kind, loving sentiments. Here’s a card I made with the new, limited-time stamp set:
This stamp set features trees in three stages – a seedling, s sprouting tree and a mature tree. The sentiments work beautiful with the trees or with other images you have in your stamp collection (I know you have quite a collection!). Here’s a look at the Growth Takes Time stamp set:
I stamped the tree with Early Espresso ink and then colored the tree and leaves with Watercolor Pencils. The branches and trunk are lightly colored with my Early Espresso pencil, while the leaves are colored with a mix of Granny Apple Green and Garden Green pencils.
I stamped the tree on the right side of the 3-1/2″ square piece of Basic White cardstock, which gave me space to tuck the sentiment into the lower, right corner of the panel. I added three 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots (Parakeet Party). So sweet!
The background of my card provides a soft backdrop for the focal panel. I stamped leaves from the stamp set over and over on a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock with Granny Apple Green ink. That piece is glued to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ ink-washed pattern from the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper. This beautiful, textured piece has been waiting for this stamp set – so bright, so uplifting. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper:
I love this mix of browns and greens, but I particularly love the starring role Granny Apple Green plays in the overall feel of the project. If you like this mix of Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Early Espresso as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
