It’s been a week since Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have had our first look at the AMAZING 2023 Annual Catalog. Since then, I’ve showcased the Color Refresh (the retiring colors, the returning colors and the new colors). I hosted team calls and customers calls where I showcased all of these color updates and then immediately moved on to the Last Chance Sale, which has been amazing! Through all of this, it’s JUST setting in that Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent are retiring.
I have LOVED these gorgeous greens – they pair with so many other colors and look amazing together! They will be missed, but I’m certain I’ll stay distracted by the parade of amazing, new products and gorgeous, new colors (but please don’t tell Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent I said that).
To give these gorgeous greens a proper send-off, I created a card to let them know how much I’ve loved them. I’m also sharing a look back at some Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent projects from over the years. Here’s the card I made for the send-off of these two colors:
My card features two pages from the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is also retiring. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns int he Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper:
The Evening Evergreen panel is a 4-1/4″ square, and the Soft Succulent panel is a 3-1/4″ square. They beautifully frame the simple sentiment that’s cropped with the Alphabet A La Mode Dies. Here’s a look at those dies, which are carrying forward into Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 Annual Catalog:
Here’s a closer look at the gorgeous shine of gold on these letters:

15 Projects
As I say goodbye to Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent, I want to share some projects from over the years that wouldn’t have been the same without these gorgeous greens. You can click on any of these pictures to see my original posts for these projects:
10 Color Combinations
Oh, I’m not done yet! To give a proper farewell to these gorgeous greens, I’m sharing 10 color combinations I love so much to show how versatile and beautiful these colors are. If you are inspired by any of these combinations, I hope you’ll save them for future reference. Enjoy!
Retiring In Colors
Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent are only two of the four colors retiring from the 2021-2023 In Colors – Fresh Freesia has earned its spot in the Subtles color collection. Pale Papaya and Polished Pink are also retiring.
Like other Last Chance products, when these products sell out, they are gone. If you’d like to restock on these colors (or any of the other retiring colors), be sure to place your order soon. ♥

Brian you really knocked the ball out of the park with your Love card. I’m always trying to come up with masculine “love” cards. You showed how easy it is with DSP. My problem is I over think. The remainder of your cards and box are just lovely. P.S. I’m in love with the new DSP. I want them all!
Thank you so much, Beth! I really appreciate your kind words and feedback. Simple is often (but not always) best when making tailored or masculine cards. I enjoyed making this one and will truly miss these beautiful greens. ♥
LOVE those layers. Tres chic!
Merci! ♥
Feeling the love here for these two beautiful colors. Your send off card is stunning! I am sure sad to see these colors leave, too. There is always a bit of hope — just ask Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock😄.
I feel the same way. Fresh Freesia pushed its way into the color families and earned its rightful place there. I’m certain we’ll see these beautiful greens again – maybe 5 years from now? 🙂
Beautiful parade of card and colors…thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you, my friend! I’ll miss these guys!
Brian,
I, too, LOVE Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent! I don’t wear green (except on St Patrick’s Day ☘️), but these are something special.
Thank you SO MUCH for showcasing them today 💚
Thank you so much, Suzie! Two years ago, I was concerned Evening Evergreen was too dark. I’ve come to fully appreciate its beauty over the years. As always, I’m so happy to share. ♥
I am so sad these two greens are leaving. I hope they bring them both back. Nothing else compares. 🙁
I’m thrilled with the new colors that are coming in (and the ones that are staying). I’ll miss these colors, but I still have hope we’ll see them again. We’ll love them even more if we do. ♥
Great post today with your awesome masculine card and the parade of your wonderful cards. Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! Hope your day has been wonderful! ♥
Had to pop in and say thank you for the great send off. Two of my favorite colors that are leaving. This is coming from a person who has a house painted the evening evergreen plus two vehicles similar in coloring! Actually, it just happened by accident that the vehicles went with the house. My neighbor actually commented asking if we bought the house to go with the vehicles! Love all your examples and that reminded me I was hoarding some of the paper to make some of those gorgeous Christmas cards! I am turning a sickly green with sadness at our loss but I know I will continue to use them for quite awhile.
Use them for as long as you have them (especially if they look great with your house and cars). ♥ I’ll miss them, too, but aren’t you THRILLED with the new colors?!
Such a beautiful parade! I’m also sad that Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent are retiring. They will never leave my house though. Your cards are so beautiful and give us all great inspiration to just use up that paper and these 2 great colors. TFS and Happy Easter!❤
Thank you so much, Bobbi! These are very special colors that (like you) I’ll never fully let go of. ♥
This an amazing send off! I love your card, so elegant. I will miss these colors too. I had some hope Soft Succulent would be on the color refresh. But, very happy with the color refresh in the end. Thanks for sharing some great cards with us today.
Hey, Susan! I, too, was certain one of these colors would make it into the permanent collection – but I’m not torn over it. I’m in love with the new colors and am sure we’ll see these beautiful greens again soon.
All beautiful cards
Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much, Melly! ♥
