Hello, Emma!

Today is a big day! As you may know, I periodically host Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kits with my very good friend, Emma Goddard. I live in the United States, and Emma lives in the United Kingdom. Despite a multi-year friendship (on a few design teams) and a close working relationship with Emma (on our kits), we have finally met! All is great in the world! Today Emma is hosting a big event in Little Hampton, West Essex, and I’m here to join the fun! I’m so excited to be here!

To commemorate this big event for Emma and me (our first in-person “hello”), I made a special card for my wonderful friend. Here’s the card I made for Emma:

I love that we can make projects that are specifically designed for special people in our lives. I heat-embossed the world map from Watercolor World on Boho Blue cardstock and cropped it with the Deckled Rectangles Dies, centering over the Atlantic Ocean so my town and Emma’s town. Here’s a look at the Watercolor World stamp set:

I cropped two little, oblong hearts from the Share a Milkshake Dies from Poppy Parade cardstock and glued them in place. While I had the Share a Milkshake Dies out, I cropped a little grid from the dies and added them to the corners behind my Boho Blue panel for a little something extra. Here’s a look at the Share a Milkshake Dies (how fun are these little elements?):

I added a simple “HELLO” from the Happy Labels stamp set – there are so many great sentiments in this set, but the simple sentiment gave me exactly what I wanted. It’s a perfect way to say “hello” to Emma, don’t you think?

While the Poppy Parade hearts play such an important role on this card, it’s the mix of gray and blues that I love so much. If you like this mix of Smoky Slate, Boho Blue and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
