Sending Hugs and Stuff

Sometimes a single sentiment catches my eye and then calls to me over and over until it gets inked and showcase on a card. “Sending hugs and stuff” is such a casual sentiment that’s so simple but also so complex. With just four words, the sentiment sends comfort and casually blushes while kicking its shoe in the sand. The addition of “and stuff” means the sender is also including some uncomfortable things that are difficult to talk about (like kisses or love or admiration). Here’s a card I made with this sentiment from the Handmade Hugs stamp set:

Here’s a look at the Handmade Hugs stamp set, which coordinates with the Handmade Tag Punch:

Handmade Hugs, Stampin Up! 161401While you and I both love the sentiment (I’m making a bold assumption with that one), it’s the placement of the large gingham panels that makes this card so special. I cut two panels from the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper, cutting from the same corner of both pages. I then trimmed away from all sides of the Pretty Peacock piece to cut a panel that fit perfectly in the middle of the Berry Burst piece. I love these patterns, and it was fun to fit them together perfectly here. Here’s a closer look:
