Last weekend Mom and I traveled to Carthage, Tennessee to hang out with my amazing stamp group there. Such a fun weekend getaway. It snowed the last time we were there, and thunder storms greeted us on this trip. Either way, we turned the weather into sunshine and smiles while we crafted all day in the barn. We made color charts and projects with products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 Annual Catalog. Here’s one of the cards I made for the group to recreate:
Before I share the details of this project, I have to tell you that the project is heavily inspired by Emma Goddard’s Cheerful Daisies class I attended in the United Kingdom in May. I used the same dies, coordinating stamp set and papers, but I made some tweaks to the make the project my own.
Have you considered how versatile the dies in the Cheerful Daisies Bundle are? Not only can you stamp the images from the set (single or two-step images) and crop them with the outline die, but you can build a two-layer or three-layer flower with the dies. The trio of flowers crops as one unit from the dies (shown at the bottom of the image below). There are three dies in the set of dies that can be layered behind that trio, and there are three dies in the set that can be layered on top of the trio – or you can pick-and-choose which layers you want to use. Yay! Here’s a look at the Cheerful Daisies Bundle, which includes the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and coordinating Cheerful Daisies Dies:
Here’s a closer look at the flower I created for he front of my card – I cropped the large outline, large flower in the trio and the detailed flower on top with Basic White cardstock. With a Sponge Dauber, I added Lemon Lolly ink to the center of the middle layer before assembling the flower. Here’s a closer look:
Rather than glue down the entire flower at each layer, I only added glue to the center of each layer, giving the flower more dimension on the project. I popped up the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it further dimension.
The leaves behind the flower are stamped with Lemon Lime Twist on Basic White cardstock using the new Layering Leaves stamp set and cropped with the Bough Punch. I added in some additional leaves that are just punched from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. The sentiment is also pulled from the Layering Leaves stamp set. Here’s a look at the Layering Leaves stamp set:
The stamp set gives us a variety of one-stamp and two-step stamps for the Bough Punch – love it!
The flower and leaves on my card are mounted on a panel cropped with the Countryside Corners Dies – a Boho Blue watercolored background from the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper. There are six watercolored pages in this pack of papers – each of the five 2023-2025 In Colors are represented, and one page is a mix of Garden Green and Pretty Peacock. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper:
Stamps: Layering Leaves Papers: Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper, Boho Blue, Thick Basic White, Basic White Inks: Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly, Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Cheerful Daisies Dies, Countryside Corners Dies, Bough Punch, Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems (Lemon Lolly), Sponge Dauber, Basics 3D Embossing Folders, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Your card today is so refreshing and elegant. Its simple elements are so pleasing to the eye. Love the Boho Blue colors the most! Your white daisy is a definite eye-catcher. Great inspiration!

Such a stunning card, Brian! I love this suite because a daisy is such a happy flower. What you’ve done with the layers and background, are perfect to show its beauty. Well done!~
I would love to know what that embossing folder is called on the large layer.
