Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! We are embracing some (or all) of Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful blues for today’s hop – there are so many great ways to showcase the blues in the current color families! We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Beautiful Blues
It wasn’t difficult for me to find inspiration for the gorgeous blues I showcased in today’s project – the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper was a guaranteed winner! The hard part came when I needed to narrow down the patterns I wanted to showcase. I created my card with two gorgeous patterns, but any mix of patterns in the pack of papers would have been just as perfect. Here’s the card I made to share with you today:
I cropped a small scene from an icy lake, framed it Misty Moonlight cardstock and a Thick Basic White Scalloped Contours Die. It’s like a beautiful painting. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in six of the 12 pages in the Online Exclusives One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
While this pack of papers is currently unavailable to order, it is expected to be restocked and orderable next week. Yay! Here’s a look at the full 6″ x 6″ page of this gorgeous landscape:
and a closer look at the framed beauty:
I stamped the sentiment from the Inked & Tiled stamp set (I love that it’s right justified – it looks great along the right side of the focal panel), and snipped it out with my Paper Snips. I added three Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (Night of Navy) around the sentiment and a “nest” of silver from the Simply Elegant Trim for a little added shine.
If you like the mix of blues in my card (Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy are all showcased in the landscape panel), I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Inked & Tiled Papers: One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Thick Basic White Inks: Night of Navy Accessories: Scalloped Contour Dies, Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (Night of Navy), Simply Elegant Trim (silver), Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Cropping that little little scene brings out the WOW!
All wonderful cards. Love the way you used the dsp to show case your card.
Love your layout and papers chosen. But you are correct, that piece of the scene is fabulous! Love it!
This is amazing. I love everything about it. Your layers are all perfectly done. Chef’s kiss to that little snow scene nestled in the white frame. Perfection! Thank you for this amazing hop!
Love all the layers, especially the striped DSP behind the focal scene. Beautiful! Enjoy your day!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your spotlight on that DSP portion. Dramatic, elegant — all that. Fabulous Hop, too!
This is so silly! I went to place an order and entered the wrong email address. I tried to correct it but can’t go back to that page! Sheesh!! Technology!! My correct email address is bethaopitz@yahoo.com. I’m a former demonstrator but let it lapse due to Illness. I’ve chosen you as my go to guy because you have always been my biggest source of inspiration!!
Stunning! I haven’t opened this pack of DSP yet, and now I think I have to do so today.
That’s a “blue”tiful scene!
I really enjoyed your card today. It seems so serene and peaceful. The blues are just right for such a calming scene. Well done!
Stunning use of the DSP.! Your cards always make me smile!
I love how you showcased this DSP! Very creative and a beautiful card as always!!
Wow, you did it again! Another card created to perfection. I love everything about it! Thanks for sharing!
Brian, this helps me a lot. I had wondered what I was going to do with the “backgrounds”. Now I know.
