Diana Gibson’s Amazing Royal Swap – Day 3

This past month, I hosted a card swap with my team to share exciting projects with fellow team members. Participants designed a card with current Stampin’ Up! products (and some Holiday Catalog sneak peeks) and sent me 10. In return, they each received 11 cards in return (with a card from me) and a little gift.

If you missed the other days of swap shares, you can see them here:

Today I’m excited to highlight one of the special cards I received. Each and every card was wonderful, but I was delightfully surprised by the card I received from Diana Gibson, a new member of my InKing Royalty team. Her card, which features several products from Stampin’ Up!’s September-December 2023 Mini Catalog, is a simple beauty at first look…but wait until you see what’s inside!

Here’s Diana’s festive card:

by Diana Gibson, Stampin Up!, InKing Royalty Card Swap, 1 of 2The front of Diana’s card features an image of two elves adding an ornament to a wreath that’s the “O” in “JOY” that’s cropped with a square from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Her coloring of the images is perfection! Here’s a look at this fun, new stamp set that’s available starting September 6 with the release of Stampin’ Up!’s new Holiday Mini Catalog:

Jolly Words, Stampin Up!, 162087The elves are framed with another square and mounted on a panel of pine branches and holly from the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper (also new in the upcoming catalog). The images and colors in this pack of papers coordinate with several of the suites in the new catalog (LOVE THAT!). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper:

A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 162377Are you ready for the fun part?! If, like me, you thought Diana had created a simple design that was mounted to the front of her card, you might be surprised to see what happens when you open this card. Here’s a look:

by Diana Gibson, Stampin Up!, InKing Royalty Card Swap, 2 of 2I don’t have the measurements for this particular card, but I hope this image gives you inspiration to play with it. I’ve made cards like this and can offer this tip – once the inside is added, close the card and then glue in place the “JOY” piece to ensure proper placement. Diana added a sweet sentiment and tree from the Wishes All Around stamp set (also new in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog) inside the card.

If you love the mix of Real Red, Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce on Diana’s card, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
