Hello with Tropical Leaf

With Stampin’ Up!’s release of a new kit yesterday (click here) and the upcoming release of new Online Exclusives (available November 7), I find myself excited about out-of-catalog product offerings. Don’t get me wrong – I’m still THRILLED with the Holiday Mini Catalog (and there’s still so much to share), but the online offerings are calling to me.

Today, I’m showcasing a card I made with two Online Exclusives that were first available earlier this year – the Tropical Leaf Bundle includes a photopolymer stamp set (with leaves, stems and great sentiments), and the coordinating punch brings the leaves to life). Here’s my card:

I stamped the leaves with Shaded Spruce ink, added the veins with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the punched each out with the Tropical Leaf Punch. Here’s a look at the Tropical Leaf Bundle:

Tropical Leaf Bundle, Stampin Up! 161249My card features great patterns from THREE Designer Series Papers (all are showcased in the product listing at the base of this post):

  • Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Pretty Peacock) – the gingham background pattern adds a great pattern behind the focal panel.
  • Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper – the watercolored Lemon Lime Twist backdrop creates a lovely texture behind the leaves.
  • Garden Walk 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – the vase that supports the large, tropical leaves is cropped from the Garden Walk paper. Want to know more?

The “vase” for the arrangement of tropical leaves is punched with the Modern Oval Punch. Here’s a closer look:

I simply punched the modern oval from the pack of papers and then trimmed a little bit off the bottom to give it a flat edge. So easy!

I added some leaves from the Earthen Textures Dies. They added a little extra texture (it’s in the name!) and helped to highlight the arrangement of tropical leaves.

Do you love this mix of greens and aqua-greens? I love it so much! If you like this mix of Lemon Lime Twist, Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
