Be My Valentine & Throughout the Year

If you like a card with lots of luscious layers, then you are in for a treat today. I sat down to build a simple Valentine’s Day card to feature the “Be my Valentine” sentiment from the Throughout the Year stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s September-December 2023 Holiday Mini Catalog. I pulled some Designer Series Paper from the upcoming January-April 2024 Mini Catalog, and the layers just built themselves. Here’s the card I made to share with you today:

Throughout the Year, Be Mine Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Valentines Day card

Throughout the Year is a perfect sentiment set. Love, birthdays, Easter, Halloween, New Year’s, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day and gratitude are all celebrated in this fun set. Here’s a look at this versatile and fun set:

Throughout the Year, Stampin Up!, 162312The style of the “Be my Valentine” stood out to me from the moment I saw this set. August (when Demonstrators could pre-order from the catalog) was too early for Valentine’s Day projects, but I’ve kept it in the back of my mind, waiting for the right time to showcase it. It still might be early, but it’s certainly TOO early. 🙂

I cropped the sentiment at the heart of my card with the long, thin die from the Christmas Classics Dies – I wasn’t ready to put those away just yet. ♥ These dies will be retiring soon – don’t miss out!

My card features two designs from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper, a bright collection of bees, hearts and flowers. I showcased a panel of hearts in the background (fourth page on the top row) and a thin strip of strips (the second page on the bottom row). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper, new in Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2024 Mini Catalog:

Bee Mine Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 162546A Valentine’s Day sentiment and a panel of tiny hearts calls for more hearts, right? While the Bee My Valentine stamp set features bees and love-filled sentiments, there are also hearts that work with the Bee Builder Punch. Such brilliance! Here’s a look at the Bee My Valentine Bundle:

Bee My Valentine Bundle, Stampin Up! 162554I needed a little earthiness to tone down the sweetness in the Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet patterns of the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. Crumb Cake was an easy choice, giving me exactly what I needed. ♥ If you love this mix of Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Sweet Sorbet as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
