Stampin’ Up!’s Hot Air Balloon Bundle has been very popular with my team members, customers and other demonstrators. The suite is designed with a huge variety of sweet, soft colors – I love them all. When I sat down to make the card I’m sharing with you today, though, I thought I would build my card with colors that aren’t a part of the suite – that would certainly help my card to stand out in a sea of pastels. The sweet colors pulled me in, though, and I couldn’t fight the temptation to play with pastels. Here’s the card I made for today:
Here’s a look at the Hot Air Balloon Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – April 2024 Mini Catalog:
There are so many great ways to dress up a balloon in this bundle. I stamped the large balloon with Fresh Freesia ink and cropped it with the coordinating die. I cropped a sold banner with Lemon Lime Twist and a detailed banner with Basic White. I glued the detailed banner to the solid banner and then glued those to the balloon. I cropped one of the detailed baskets (that looks like a shuttlecock) with Basic White, snipped the ropes on the right and left and then glued the detailed basket to my balloon. Here’s a closer look:
I mounted my balloon over a striped pattern from the Lighter Than Air 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper on a Balmy Blue base. I framed the base with a Thick Basic White cutout with the Scalloped Contours Dies. Here’s a look at the sweet colors and patterns in the Lighter Than Air 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
I added three Lemon Lolly dots from the Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots to accent the stripe on my balloon. If you love these products as much as I do, you can see the entire collection by clicking on the image below:
I embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel of Fresh Freesia cardstock with the Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder (a Sale-a-Bration option with a $100 order) for a little added texture. The soft mix of yellow, purple and blue makes this card very special, don’t you think? If you love the combination of Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia and Balmy Blue as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
