I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers on Saturday afternoon. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time. I showed them a bunch of the new products from the upcoming Online Exclusives. Always such fun!
Today I’m sharing three of the cards I made with June’s kit, a fruit-themed collection (lemons, peaches and cherries) for a variety of occasions. The kit also features four of the 2024-2026 In Colors (Peach Pie, Petal Pink, Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash). Such fun!
Alternative Projects
While the projects (as-designed) are pretty great, I love making alternative projects with the supplies that come with the Paper Pumpkin kits. Here are two of the alternative projects I whipped up to share with my group on our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call:
It’s easy to make beautiful cards when you start with such a fun collection of products. I’m going to share a closer look at both of these projects with you today.
hello
This month’s kit was filled with fruit and sparkly, glimmer sentiments. The white glimmer sentiments are amazing, but they don’t really stand out against a soft background, so I added a little color to my “hello”:
The punched-out sentiment wasn’t standing out enough, so I painted a little Poppy Parade ink over the white glimmer cutouts to give it a pink shine. I COULD HAVE filled a Stampin’ Spritzer with rubbing alcohol and a reinker, but I didn’t have time for all that. I just grabbed some ink with a water painter and some ink and dabbed it over the sentiment. I couldn’t have been happier with the quick result. Once the ink set a little, I left it on my table overnight (pressed under a clear block) to keep it flat. I popped it up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The background of my card is a Pretty in Pink panel of the 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and the card base is Poppy Parade to coordinate with my cherries and sentiment. So sweet!
miss you
The second card I’m sharing with you features the peaches and a portion of the leaves from the designs in the kit. I added “miss you” to the bottom, right corner, but it’s a little hard to see against the soft background (perhaps I should have painted this one, too). Here’s a look:
What you might not be able to see from this card is that the peaches are on one layer and the leaves are on another. WHAT!? I simply cut the card front from the center of the card fold to one end at about 2-1/4″ from the bottom. I glued down the top of the card to the base behind it, and let the bottom panel open.
The peaches are on one panel and half of the leaves are on another. I colored the gems (included with the kit) with my Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends to let them pop on the card.

Darling remix and perfect for summer!
I love your colorful cards, Brian. The split front on the peach card is very clever. Coloring the “hello” makes it pop. Great alternatives. Enjoy your day!
Love the idea of coloring the glimmer greetings!
