It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!
For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are creating projects inspired by foliage. I love this time of year – the leaves are bright and green, but they’ll soon start changing colors as the seasons change. My favorite! The Be Inspired Design Team has made projects that celebrate the beauty of the leaves around us – and we’re excited to share what we’ve made!
If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the project shared by my friend Maheswari Rajaguru. I’m happy you are here.
A Fall Leaf Collection
Leaves are a classic image that point to nature’s beauty around us at any time of year. Sometimes they provide support to beautiful flowers, and sometimes they decorate a wreath. They are often beautiful on their own. The Leaf Collection stamp set gives us a background of leaves that can be showcased at any time of the year. I made this card with the gorgeous background stamp set:
Here’s a look at this must-have stamp set:
My card features a new look at a long-treasured stamping technique – Joseph’s Coat. The original version of the technique involves adding ink all over a blank page, heat embossing an image with Clear Embossing Powder and then adding black ink over the project. The technique allows the colors below the clear-embossed images to shine through.
I cut out the first step in the Joseph’s Coat technique by embossing my leaves on a patterned page of the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper – and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper:
Here’s a look at the page I used as the foundation for my focal panel:
I thought I’d never be able to find a way to showcase this sherbet-flavored page from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper, but it really showed up for this card. Couldn’t be happier with it!
After the leaves were clear-embossed on my pink and orange page, I used a Blending Brush to add many layers of Pretty Peacock ink to the design. The ink resisted the embossed areas and covered the rest. After adding lots of ink, I wiped the page with a paper towel to remove any excess ink on the embossed areas. Such a beauty!
I added a simple sentiment from the Changing Leaves stamp set and cropped it with a coordinating die. Here’s a look at the Changing Leaves Bundle (if you love foliage, then you’ll love this bundle):
I added six Pretty Peacock sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequin Trio to accent my sweet sentiment.
I hope you like my project today! I hope you’ll continue the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop to see more projects by my talented friends – I know you’ll love them. The next stop is my super-talented friend, Emma Goddard. I know you’re going to love what she’s made! Click on the banner below to continue through the hop:
I hope you’ll hop through the rest of the projects in this lineup. In case you get off-track at any point during the hop, here’s a listing of all the participants in this hop:

What a fantastic use of this paper, I love how the Peach and Petunia pops through the dark ink.
