Wanted to Say … Feel Better Soon

I needed a “get well” card and wanted a gorgeous backdrop for my sentiment. You might think I’d flip through the sophisticated pages of the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper or the undeniably stunning pages of the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You wouldn’t be wrong – I did flip through those packs of papers – but I landed on a less obvious pack of papers for my card. Here’s the “get well” card I created:

If you haven’t already guessed, the background on my card is built with four panels from the Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. There are a lot of “ducks and fish” patterns in the pack of papers, but there are also some stunners in the pack. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

I added a piece of an Adhesive Sheet to the back of a sheet of Basic White cardstock and cropped the thinner sentiment with the dies. The larger piece is cropped from Pretty Peacock cardstock. Here’s a closer look at the sentiment on my card:

I LOVE these dies – if you don’t have them, you need them! Here’s a look at the Wanted to Say Dies:

I shaved 1/4″ off the side of a standard card base for a slightly thinner card base. It’s a small changed that makes a big difference. Here are the measurements for all the panels on my card:

  • The top, left and bottom, right panels measure 1-3/4″ x 3-1/2″
  • The top, right and bottom, left panels measure 1-3/4″ x 1-1/2″
  • The Basic White border panel measures 3-5/8″ x 5-1/8″
  • The Pretty Peacock card base measure 4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)

I added six Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems around the sentiment for a little extra flair. What a great collection of embellishments (the pack comes with Pretty Peacock and Petal Pink gems).
