Potions & Spells

I’m sharing a slender card I made to share with you today – it’s 5-1/2″ tall (11″ scored at 5-1/2″) and 3-1/4″ wide. I didn’t need a feel card front to showcase my cute images – and I love a variety of card sizes. Here’s the Halloween card I made with the Potions & Spells Bundle, new in the Online Exclusives launch last month:

Potions & Spells Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun Halloween card

How fun is that stack of books and mischievous cat? I love that the bundle includes dies for both images, so I could easily stack them on my card. Here’s a look at the Potions & Spells Bundle:

I stamped the stack of books with Pretty Peacock ink and then colored them with a mix of Pool Party and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a closer look:

I positioned my spooky cat against a backdrop of two Designer Series Papers that are NOT designed for Halloween – but both of them worked so well for me. The Pretty Peacock speckled pattern is pulled from the Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. It’s the fourth page on the first row in the picture below. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

How perfect is that water colored image for this card?! The design I used is the sixth image on the bottom row in the photo below. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 163303I pulled in a trio of accents from another un-Halloween product – the Blooming Pearls. The shine adds a little something special to the simple card.

The colors on my card are also not specific to Halloween – no orange, only an outline of black and no purples. If you like this mix of Pool Party, Pretty Peacock and Gray Granite as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
