Brian’s Week in Review: December 15, 2024

Brian's Week in Review

Last week I shared that I was struggling to get Christmas cards made and in the mail. Boy, do I have some great news! While I didn’t get ALL the cards made, I polished off much of my list. There are wonderful friends, team members and customers who won’t receive one of my cards, but I couldn’t let that stop me from getting any of the cards in the mail. Phew!

It’s been a BUSY week with Stampin’ Up! While the company rolled out a three-day free shipping promotion last week, I was sharing loads of cards from the Holiday One-for-One Card Swap I recently hosted. So exciting!

2024 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap, Brian King, Stampin Up!

Today is Sunday – and that means it’s time to take a look back at the past week in my Week in Review post. In today’s post, I want to share a quick rundown of the week (for those who don’t follow me every day) and a little extra background (for those who already tune in daily). I’m also sharing a tiny peek at two promotions coming up this week – I’ll share more about these promotions as they roll out this week.

Monday

Monday marked the kick-off of Stampin’ Up!’s three-day shipping promotion, so some of my post on Monday was dedicated to that announcement. I also shared a beautiful (and quite fancy) tag I made with elements from November’s Paper Pumpkin kit and the dies from the Round We Go Bundle. Here’s a look at the tag I made:

November 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI host a monthly Pumpkin in the Fungeon Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers – always a fun time and a great way to connect with lovely crafters. If you’d like a closer look at this tag, the products I used to make it and information about our Paper Pumpkin Kits, CLICK HERE.

Tuesday

On Tuesday I launched the first (of many) batch of cards from the 2024 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap I recently hosted. Participants received one card – but everyone gets to enjoy each of the cards. I gave the cards time to arrive at their destinations before posting pictures of all the cards.

I love all of the cards (and won’t settle on any favorites), but I want to showcase this card by Amanda VanHavermaet:

by Amanda Van Havermaet, Holiday One-for-One Card Swap, Stampin UpI love the fun layout of Amanda’s card and the use of the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Such a festive and fun card! If you’d like to see all of the projects in Day One of the swap cards, CLICK HERE.

Wednesday

I posted another day of Holiday One-for-One Card Swaps on Wednesday – and this time, all of the cards were fancy folds that required two pictures to showcase the closed and opened-up projects. These are always fun cards to study and share.

I don’t have a favorite in the bunch, but I love this card from Lisa Neil that showcases the Pretty Peacock papers from the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper – such an incredible fold and gorgeous card!

Thursday

The Holiday One-for-One Swap parade continued on Thursday with another batch of gorgeous cards. Such fun! Barbara Moody always wows me with her projects (she’s participated in these swaps from the start) – and her pastel card stands out in a collection of beautiful cards. Here’s Barbara’s card (only one of 9 beauties in Thursday’s post):

Friday

I took a quick break from the incredible swap cards to share Mom’s Christmas card on Friday. I knew which set Mom would want, and we worked together to find a fun fold and mix of products that she’d be proud to send out. Here’s a look at Mom’s card I shared with you on Friday:

Shepherd's Care stamp set, Christmas card by Mary KingThe Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper is not retiring (I’m not sure, but it might stick around until next holiday season or it may disappear for a short time and reappear in the Holiday Mini catalog). Either way, I’ll be using some of the red pages from this pack for Valentine’s Day and some of the earth tones for other projects during the year. If you don’t have an extra pack of this gorgeous paper, now’s a great time to grab up a pack so you have it when you need it.

Saturday

Yesterday I shared DAY FOUR of the Holiday One-for-One Card Swap, including the card Mom made to include in the swap. Mom helped me open and sort all of the cards as they arrived before Thanksgiving. As a reward for her hard work, she was able to pick the card she wanted to showcase on her fireplace at home. She accumulated quite a pile of cards she loved and eventually settled on this one from Michelle Dadson:
