Birthday Celebration with Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper

The Wildflower Birthday Suite Collection is beautifully featured on the front cover of Stampin’ Up!’s 2025 Spring Mini Catalog. Earlier this week, I introduced you to the projects and products on the front cover – nearly all of the products in this suite are showcased on the cover (if you missed that post, you can see it here).

Today I’m sharing a quick-and-easy card I made with the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper and coordinating Birthday Celebration Dies. Here’s the card I made to share with you today:

I want to walk you through the elements I used to build this sweet card, but let’s first take a look at the Wildflower Birthday Suite Collection:

Wildflower Birthday Suite, Stampin' Up!, 164604The focal panel of this card is cropped right out of one of the pages in the Birthday Celebration Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this gorgeous pack of papers:

WIldflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 164591The gold foil accents in the pages of this paper are incredible. Here’s a closer look at the page of tags (you can see my cake panel along the center, left side of the 12″ x 12″ page):

page from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 164591I also pulled two little flower bushels from the punchout page in the Specialty Designer Series Paper and added them to the sides of the cake. A sweet accent! I framed the panel with gold foil and added a birthday number with the Birthday Celebration Dies, part of the Birthday Celebration Bundle. The numbers, banners, tassels and flowers are must-haves. Here’s a look:

Birthday Celebration Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 164599I added 11 Iridescent Foil Gems to add a little more shine to the card – I added three, then three more, then five across the top. It felt excessive, but I can’t imagine the card without them.

I want to share a couple of things about the number at the center of this card:

  • I didn’t have a particular birthday in mind while making this card, so I started with a “68”. As I was about to assemble it, I wondered if there’s a certain age where a card should not feature the age. There’s a span of ages that may be off limits – and then an age when the number is celebrated again. I wasn’t sure how to navigate that one, so I landed on a card for a 39 year-old. 🙂
  • I really wanted the number to stand out on my card, so I cropped the numbers with gold foil and Night of Navy cardstock. I layered the gold a little to the right of the navy cutout and then attached them to the card with rolled Mini Glue Dots to lift them off the card just a bit. Good news! I’ve prepped two more cards with this paper that I’ll share tomorrow. Together, they are a sweet collection of birthday celebrations. I hope you’ll come back tomorrow to check those out!
