We make cards to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and big life events. We make cards to express gratitude and love to the people who bring happiness into our lives. We also make cards to express sympathy and encouragement during difficult times. There’s a lot of fear and pain in the world, and sometimes we have to remind our loved ones (or ourselves) that sunny days will soon return. Here’s a card I made to share this sentiment with the Umbrella days Bundles and two pages from the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
My card started with the oversized cloud (more on that later), but it’s image of the lady with an umbrella and beautiful sentiment that really ground this card. The Umbrella Days Bundle is a beautiful, versatile stamp/dies bundle that needs to be in your collection. Here’s a look at the bundle:
Such classic images and a beautiful way to send encouragement and support. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with a mix of Stampin’ Blends – I used Petunia Pop, Real Red, Pecan Pie, Boho Blue and Daffodil Delight to add life to the image. Here’s a closer look:
The Balmy Blue background and the large cloud on my card are cropped from the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I love the pages in this pack – you receive 8 each of the six double-sided designs in the pack. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
The background on my card showcases the second design on the bottom row, and the cloud is cropped with the fifth pattern on the bottom row (the only bokeh design to feature a variety of colors). The cloud is cropped with a large die from the Bright Skies Dies. I had to angle the cloud on the card front to fit it on the card.
I added three white sequins from the Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins, one of the Sale-a-Bration products you can choose for free with a $60 order. I love these sequins – such an easy way to add a little shine without a lot of work.

Have a blessed day.
Thank you, Nancy! That cloud is both lovely and frightening. So glad you like it. ♥
What a wonderful card, everything blends perfectly and is exceptionally uplifting. Have you ever kept a card you made for your own hearts sake? I have, it was a tribute to a local mountain lion ( P-22) who is still quite famous here as he was a catalyst for one of the largest urban wildlife crossings in the world ( and about 15 miles from my home)
Thank you so much, Cindie! I have kept a few cards that I will never part with. I do, though, like to have a stash on hand (especially of sympathy or get well cards) if I need to quickly get one in the mail. I think I already have a recipient in mind for this one.
Love the oversize cloud…great card!
