Introducing Stampin’ Up!’s 2025-2027 In Colors

Every year Stampin’ Up! introduces us to a set of five on-trend colors that will stick around for two years. It’s like Christmas for me – I love opening up that new catalog and searching for these colors. I love soaking them in and finding what color combinations make them most special. SO EXCITING!

Yesterday I shared a quick card to showcase all five of Stampin’ Up!’s 2025-2027 In Colors – if you missed that post, you can see it here. Today I’m going to give you a look at each and some of my thoughts about them. I can’t wait to work with these new inks, papers, ribbons and embellishments – and I’m certain you are going to love them, too! Here are Stampin’ Up!’s 2025-2027 In Colors:

2025-2027 In Colors, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

There’s so much to love about the mix of soft, bright  and uber-rich tones in this incredible collection of colors! Often times I have to warm up to the new In Colors – I have to work with them a while to fall in love with them, but I’m already in love with these! The best way to show you how these colors fit into our current color families is to show you how they look right next to colors we already know. It might also help to show how they work with other colors you know and love.

Below are my thoughts on each of these amazing, new colors and some comparisons to colors already in our color families. I’ve also included an exciting color combination for each. There’s also another new color I’m excited to get to know!

CLOUD COVER

It’s difficult to describe the beauty of Cloud Cover – is it blue, is it green, is it gray? No matter how you classify it, Cloud Cover is gorgeous! Here’s a look at Cloud Cover:

Cloud Cover, Stampin' Up! 2025-2027 In Color

I would describe Cloud Cover as a muted aqua – a little blue, a little green and a lot of gray. Here’s how Cloud Cover compares with some aqua tones in our current collection:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Pool Party, Cloud Cover, Lost LagoonPlaying with the mix of greens and blues inherent in Cloud Cover, I thought it would look great with Soft Sea Foam and Misty Moonlight. Here’s a look:

DARLING DUCKLING

Yellows are always popular options in Stampin’ Up!’s color collections. We’ve loved yellows that are bright or soft or muted or rich. Darling Duckling has a big more green in it than standard yellows we’ve loved – and I know you’re going to love this yellow. Here’s a look at Darling Duckling:

Darling Duckling falls somewhere between cheery Daffodil Delight and moody Crushed Curry – such a great addition to our color collection (even if just for two years). Here’s how Darling Duckling compares with these other yellow colors:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Daffodil Delight, Darling Duckling, Crushed CurryThis might be a little unexpected (I was even surprised by my pairing of these three colors), but I really love how Darling Duckling plays with Petal Pink and Shaded Spruce. What do you think?:

TIMID TIGER

Orange colors have come and gone over the years – only Pumpkin Pie has had staying power in the Stampin’ Up! collection. I have a feeling we’ll see more of Timid Tiger – even after its 2-year service is complete. Here’s a look at this rich, new orange color:

If you are like me, you immediately thought Timid Tiger is just a repackaged Tangerine Tango (a past favorite of mine). I put them side-by-side, though, and realized Timid Tiger has a lot more yellow in it than Tangerine Tango. Timid Tiger has its own personality and its own depth. Here’s how Timid Tiger compares with two other oranges in our current color collection:

Timid Tiger will play well with all color families. I think it will pair wonderfully with Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel. Here’s a look:

STRAWBERRY SLUSH

We have had a lot of vibrant pinks over the years, and I’m so happy to welcome Strawberry Slush this year. Strawberry Slush is a returning color from years past, joining us for another two-year run as a soon-to-be popular In Color. Here’s a look at Strawberry Slush:

Here’s how Strawberry Slush compares with two very pink colors in our current color collection:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Flirty Flamingo, Strawberry Slush, Melon MamboI love the mix of yellow, blue and pink. I think Strawberry Slush will pair well with Lemon Lolly and Coastal Cabana. Here’s a look:

SECRET SKY

We’ve not had a rich, moody color like Secret Sky before. I’d liken it to Evening Evergreen, which looked very green sometimes and almost black other times. Like Evening Evergreen, Secret Sky is hard to describe. Here’s a look at Secret Sky:

Secret Sky, Stampin' Up! 2025-2027 In ColorI definitely see the blue tones in Secret Sky, but Night of Navy looks bright next to it and makes me question the amount of blue in this new color. Here’s how Secret Sky compares with Basic Gray and Basic Black:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Basic Gray, Secret Sea, Basic BlackIsn’t it GORGEOUS?! I can’t wait to play with Secret Sea – I think the combination of Smoky Slate, Pretty Peacock and Secret Sea is a winning combination. Here’s a look:

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

How exciting are these new colors? What do you think of them? Do you already have a favorite? I can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and start creating with these new, amazing colors once I can get my hands on the new papers, inks and accessories.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I am looking forward to seeing the new colors in person. Thanks for comparing them to colors. I think my biggest surprise was Timid Tiger. I am NOT an orange person, but it seemed the nicest of the three. Like Goldilocks not too light and not too bright, just right. Ha. Ha. Ha.
    Have a blessed day.

  2. Thank you so much Brian. When I saw the new colours I couldn’t wait to see what you paired them up with and also the comparisons between the new and existing colours in the same family. Your colour matches are a source of inspiration to me when I can’t see how to match colours together and yes I do have the colour wheel. I need to use it more! Thank you Brian

  3. Hi Brian
Thanks for comparing and combining the new InColors! I was excited to see what your combinations would be! I feel like you got a “home run”, “spot on”! Well done 👍🏻
My initial favorite is Secret Sea! Maybe because I’m especially sad to see Pebbled Path retiring!

  4. I love your combinations! As others have said, they spark my creativity. I love the new colors, with my favorites being Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger. Enjoy your day!

  5. Hi Brian,
Quick question ~~ is it Secret Sea or Secret Sky? You’ve called it both in your post. 🙂

  6. I love seeing your color comparisons, Brian! When I first look at our new colors I think I’ve seen them before, but then when you put them together they are very different! Except for Strawberry Slush, that is! I’m happy to see that one return.

  7. Great colors! Thanks for showing us these comparisons. So very excited to have Strawberry Slush back (although it never completely left my craft room).

  8. I’m excited for these new colors! And your last pairing of slate/peacock/sea looks gorgeous. Can’t wait to order and play!

  9. I always eagerly await your color comparisons and pairings–thank you for doing them! I especially love the granny apple, timid tiger, blueberry bushel combo, but also the smoky slate, pretty peacock, secret sea…who am I kidding, I want to try them all!

  10. I am really looking forward to all the new In-Colors. That’s for the comparisons. It fun to see what we have and what will be added

  11. Right off the bat, “LOVE” the new InColors. Like you, this year I needed no time to warm up to the new line up.
And your parings are inspirational as always. Can’t wait until we can get our hands on these goodies!

  12. I love your take and color comparisons on the new In Colors. I was trying to figure out how to describe them and your thoughts are perfect! The more I see them, the more interesting they become.
