This week our department at work hosted a baby shower for Kristen and her husband, who are very close to welcoming their second child. How could I NOT make a peek-a-boo card (what baby doesn’t love a quick game of peek-a-boo?! ). How could I NOT showcase the Storybook Moments Specialty Designer Series Paper (the images are perfect for children of all ages)?! The card I made for Kristen’s baby shower came together quickly. Here’ the card:
Before I open it up and share the inside of the card (you’ll want to stick around for that part), here’s a look at the ADORABLE images and colors in the Storybook Moments Specialty Designer Series Paper:
What’s not included in the marketing photo from Stampin’ Up! (above)? The pack also includes TWO pages of punchout designs (the pages are identical) that coordinate with the entire suite of products. Here’s a look at one of the pages:
The little rabbit, ground and plant on the left corner of the front opening on the card are pulled from this sheet of punchout images.
The rectangle cutout on the Boho Blue card front is cropped with a rectangle from the Textured Notes Dies, and the Pecan Pie frame is cropped with the same die and the slightly larger die to create a frame. Here’s a look at the must-have Textured Notes Bundle (I really, really love these dies!):
Let’s get back to the card, shall we? The rectangle on the front of the card was positioned to frame the sweet bunny on the page inside the card (a little mathematical strategy and a little luck getting it right). Here’s a look at the inside of the card, which includes a folded 12″ x 5-1/4″ sheet of the adorable paper:
A slight pull on the right side of this panel opens up the entire card. The Designer Series Paper inside (12″ x 5-1/4″ is scored at 4″ and 8″ to gold into the card. Here’s a look:
I rarely share the handwritten message that’s included inside a card, but I had already filled it in before taking pictures of this card. I used a combination of sentiments from the Sentimental Park stamp set to say “let’s celebrate your new baby” inside the card. My personal note welcomes her “new team member,” a playful comparison of our work relationships and her family relationships.
I added a trio of Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots to coordinate with the bunnies and frame on the front of the card and to add a little shine to the card front.
Stamps: Sentimental Park Papers: Storybook Moments Specialty Designer Series Paper, Boho Blue, Pecan Pie, Basic White Inks: Boho Blue, Pecan Pie Accessories: Textured Notes Dies, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
What do you think?! Isn’t this paper perfect to welcome a new baby?! I couldn’t resist!
Thanks for stopping by today!
