Brighten Their Day with a Rainbow Card

There’s something truly magical about a rainbow – it’s a universal symbol of hope, joy, and connection. Today I’m sharing a bright and happy card that brings all those good vibes together with an amazing sentiment that’s a perfect way to say “thank you!”.

Here’s the card I’ve designed to share with you today:

Is there a more perfect foundation for a rainbow than a cloud-filled sky? This card begins with a dreamy backdrop from the Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, featuring soft clouds that set the stage beautifully for bold, bright colors. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

You may have noticed that the Everyday Skies Suite Collection has moved to the Last Chance Sale. The good news? Only the Everyday Arches Stamp Set and the White 1/2″ Woven Ribbon are retiring this time around. While we’ll definitely miss them, I’m thrilled that the Everyday Skies 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and Everyday Arches Dies are sticking around—for now. Phew!

The rainbow on my card was built with the Sunshine Vibes Dies—such fun to play with! I cropped the arches from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, then painted each one with a watercolor brush and a variety of bright, happy colors. Here’s a look at this incredible bundle:

To color the arches, I gathered ink into the lid of each ink pad, dipped a wet brush into the pooled ink, and then painted it onto the coordinating arch. This method gives you a soft watercolor look while keeping those bright Stampin’ Up! colors true and vibrant. Here’s a closer look:

Once the ink dried, I splattered the arches with water to create a speckled, watercolor effect. (You know me—I probably painted them more solidly than I needed to, but I love how vibrant they turned out!) I also painted a starburst and two hearts in coordinating colors to tie everything together.

The sentiment on my card is exactly my kind of saying—simple and to the point. “Couldn’t do it without you” says so much in just a few words: “thank you,” “I needed you,” and “you were part of my journey and success.” How wonderful is that?! This meaningful sentiment comes from the Tags of Thanks stamp set, which is currently listed in the Last Chance Products—and it’s even marked down! If it’s not in your collection yet, now’s the perfect time to grab it before it’s gone!

If you like the mix of colors I used in my rainbow, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

I love the colors you chose. Painting the rainbow on watercolor paper of both creative and a time saver – only 1 die cut needed to create the rainbow pieces. CASing this, thanks!

    • I was happy to cut it just once. I’ve made this rainbow before on white paper and colored with Blends, but the watercolor paper was a new experience – and I loved it! Thanks so much!
