On Saturday, I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon calls, I share fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always so impressed by what others are making—and I wish I could bottle the joy of these calls to share with you.
When I first saw the “farmhouse florals” theme for August, I wasn’t sure how much I’d love this kit. But wow—was I wrong! The large floral images are stunning, the papers feel luxurious, and the finished projects are absolutely gorgeous.
More About The Kit
August’s kit includes nine designed cards that come together beautifully—you don’t have to change a thing to create cards you’ll be proud to send to friends and family. Here’s a look at the finished projects as designed:
- A basket of flowers
- A typewriter filled with flowers
- A windowsill of flowers
Each is a perfect water colored image! The sentiments in the stamp set are wonderful, too—and this month even included a bonus stamp set with additional greetings I’ll be keeping close at hand. Here’s a look at the stamp set that came with the kit:
Stampin’ Up! has also released refills for this kit in the online store (I’ve already ordered extras). Refills include everything but the Secret Sea Stampin’ Spot and the two stamp sets. Check it out here.
Alternative Projects
As gorgeous as the kit projects are, I wanted to stretch the elements and share some alternative designs during our call. Here are two of the projects I showcased:
For You
I hand-snipped the flowers and bag from the card base for this card and built a beautiful, fun fold card around them. Here’s a look at the For You card I shared with our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call:
I added two panels of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers from the 2025-2027 In Colors (Cloud Cover) and Neutrals (Crumb Cake) to build a background for my beautiful flowers.
The fold on my card starts with a standard z-fold (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and 2-1/8″). I adhered the base panel for this to another standard card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″) to give the card a foundation that allows it to stand up. Here’s a look at how this card could stand up on your fireplace mantel:
Beautiful, right? I added a trio of 2025-2027 In Colors Flat Pearls (Cloud Cover) to accent the card front. I don’t normally showcase the insides of the card, but these sentiments were so beautiful, I couldn’t resist building out the inside of the card, too! “Thank you for your constant friendship and listening ear” – too lovely not to use!
Just a Note to Say…
How could anyone resist a vintage typewriter? I couldn’t wait to create something beautiful with this image. I stamped the sentiment on a punch-out piece from the kit and added it to the typewriter, along with two of the punch-out flowers:
I cut a 3-1/2″ strip of the card (including the card back) of the typewriter image to allow the front panel to open on the card front like this:
I framed the panel with Lost Lagoon and Darling Duckling cardstock (what a gorgeous combination!) and had fun with building a beautiful inside of this card, too! I cut a strip from one of the envelope flaps and added it to the inside of the card. I added the sentiment (framed with Lost Lagoon) and accented with two more flowers.
