When Jeremiah and I were in Salt Lake City last month, Melody Hyde treated us to a lovely day in the Utah state parks. We visited the Silver Lake Loop and then enjoyed a wonderful Greek meal at Melody’s suggestion. We really had such a great time! Here’s one picture to prove it:
No sooner was I home than I received a GORGEOUS thank you card from Melody. That’s right – she sent a thank you card to me. I’m not sure what I did to deserve that (unless letting her schlep me around all day is worthy of gratitude), but I love that she did. Here’s the over-the-top beauty she sent:
This beautiful piece of art combines a few noteworthy products – and they all look amazing together. I’ll do my best to dissect this card and highlight the incredible details Melody added.
The Background
On a Basic White card base, Melody added a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ panel of Basic White, embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. The panel adds wonderful texture without stealing attention from the focal elements.

The Focal Elements
At the heart of this card are two standouts that make the design shine: the four colorful embossed panels and the sweet sentiment.
Four Colorful Panels
With gold embossing powder, Melody heat-embossed images from the Etched Autumn stamp set onto four different Two-Tone Cardstocks: Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Timid Tiger, and Crushed Curry. What a classic Fall color combination!
The two-tone papers give a beautiful, natural edge when torn – and Melody went a step further by spritzing the panels with water or bleach to add even more texture. Gorgeous!

A Perfect Sentiment
“Thankful” just about says it all on a Fall card – and I absolutely LOVE the font. This sentiment is from the Lovely Florals stamp set, a new Online Exclusive. It coordinates with the Floral Charm Suite Collection but was released later. Here’s a look at the stamp set that features this sentiment:
Confession: I bought this set just for the “Thankful” sentiment. I’ll eventually use the other elements, but I really, really love this word.
Sprinkles All Over
Melody splattered Cajun Craze ink (I think!) over the white areas – card base, embossed panel, and sentiment – for an extra pop of color and texture. And it’s perfect! I showed you this photo earlier, but it’s worth another share so you can see the sprinkles:
Speaking of sprinkles…Melody also added five Basic Beige Neutral Matte Dots across the card, tying it all together with a subtle accent.
My Final Thoughts
Can you tell how much I love this card? Honestly, I wish I had thought of this design myself. All of the elements work together beautifully, and now I’m lucky enough to own it. ♥ I’m so thankful to Melody for her friendship – and for sharing this beautiful piece of art with me.
