Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? We’ve been playing with Christmas supplies for half of the year, and now it’s almost time to put our pencils down. Unless… of course… you’re ready to start making next year’s Christmas cards. ♥
I realized this week that my Jar of Joy stamp set didn’t get enough love this season, so I made a quick card to share with you today. Here’s my card:
My card features two jar-themed products that were designed for each other and work beautifully together. Let’s start with the Jar of Joy stamp set:
The jar itself was punched with the Sweet Jar Builder Punch, which is part of the Sweet Jar Bundle. Here’s a look at the Sweet Jar Bundle:
The Jar
I stamped the jar with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and punched it out with the Sweet Jar Builder Punch. I stamped the snowman with Memento ink and added a Poppy Parade scarf and hat band using the Jar of Joy stamp set. To fill the snow globe jar, I stamped Pool Party snow with the coordinating image.
Here’s a closer look at the jar at the heart of my card:
I heat-embossed the lid using the Sweet Jar stamp set and Gold WOW! Embossing Powder, then punched it out with the Sweet Jar Builder Punch. I love the added shine! I finished the jar with three Poppy Parade Dear Dots and mounted it over a vellum circle cropped with the Stylish Shapes Dies.
A Unique Backdrop
You already know I love a red-and-aqua color combination – Pool Party and Poppy Parade just might be my favorite. While looking for Designer Series Paper to place behind my snowman, I came across the gorgeous plaid in the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack:
While the pattern is lovely on its own, I decided to switch things up a bit for a more unique backdrop. I cut the Designer Series Paper into 1″ squares to build the background. To add interest, I made sure the patterns didn’t line up from square to square. I love how that turned out!
Here’s a closer look at some of the squares on the card background:
The Sentiment
I added a simple sentiment from the Wishing You Joy stamp set. While there are some wonderful greetings in the Jar of Joy and Sweet Jar stamp sets, I loved the font and size of the sweet “sending you cheer” sentiment. Here’s a look at the Wishing You Joy stamp set:
One More Sample
I love when products are versatile enough to use throughout the year. While the Jar of Joy stamp set is clearly Christmas-themed, the Sweet Jar stamp set and punch will come in handy during the other months. Here’s a Valentine’s Day card I made earlier this year using the Sweet Jar Bundle (click on the image to see my original post for this project):
Final Thoughts
If you’re thinking ahead to next year’s Christmas cards – or simply want to stretch your craft supplies beyond a single season – these jar products are a fantastic addition to your collection. I love how easily they mix and match, and how a few simple tweaks can give you a fresh look every time.

” Adorable” was the first word that came to mind when I saw this card. Love the vellum and your creative use of the DSP. Enjoy your day!
I almost choked on my coffee thinking you used glitter on the lid, but WHEW it was embossing powder. Cute little card!
