Over the past week, I shared projects from my team’s InKing Royalty Card Swap. I was so happy to showcase these gorgeous creations and celebrate the incredible talent in our group.
While I didn’t make a card for the swap this time around, I did want to include something special in each package I mailed back out. So I tucked in a small gift – and attached a handmade tag to each one. Today, I’m excited to share that tag with you!
Here’s the tag I made:
I’m going to walk you through how I created it (it was such a fun little project!), but first I want to highlight a couple of the products that made it shine.
The paint stripes and sentiment are from a brand-new stamp set that will be released on March 3 as part of the Online Exclusives launch. The set – A Rainbow of Thanks – is packed with versatile images and sentiments. I can already tell it’s going to be a favorite!
Here’s a sneak peek look at A Rainbow of Thanks:
The heart of the tag is cropped with the dies from the Joyful Squares Bundle.
As I am writing this post on Sunday, the bundle is on backorder – but it’s expected to be back in stock this week. Yay!
I used the square frame die to create both the Basic White frame and the popped-up center panel of the tag. That little bit of dimension makes all the difference.
How I Made Each Tag
- I cut 3″ square pieces of Basic White cardstock (slightly larger than needed).
- I stamped the three paint stripes in Strawberry Slush, Summer Splash and Timid Tiger ink.
- I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black and signed the tag.
- I cropped the stamped panel with the square frame die from the Joyful Squares Dies.
- I glued the frame to a piece of Summer Splash cardstock.
- I popped up the center of the die-cut piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals, carefully lining up the paint stripes.
- I added a trio of Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a little sparkle.
Here’s how the tag look from the side, showcasing the popped up center:
I love how fresh and happy this combination of Timid Tiger, Strawberry Slush and Summer Splash feels together. It’s bold, bright and perfect for a cheerful thank-you.
If you love this color combo as much as I do, I hope you’ll save it for future reference:
Last Thoughts
Sometimes it’s the smallest handmade details that mean the most. A simple tag, a thoughtful color combination, a little dimension – those extras turn a package into something memorable. I’m so grateful for my InKing Royalty team and love finding little ways to say thank you.
I really love how this tag turned out. The popped up center would work well on a card, too!

Sweet and creative rainbow card!
Thanks, Mary! Had fun with these.
Hi Brian
You really are the tag “King”! Such a great design! That set was not on my radar until your creativity using it!
I’m sure everyone loved getting your tag as much as I always do! Your color combination is so fresh and fun for this set !
Thanks again for always sharing your tags and how you made them!
Thanks so much, Dawn! I went around in circles, trying to come up with a fun technique. Immediately loved this when it popped into my head. The colors are all In Colors – so bright, so fun. So glad you like it! ♥
That set would not have drawn my attention, but you’ve made it pop! Perfect color combo.
Thanks so much, my friend! ♥
Your tags are always the best! You and your team are so talented and lucky to have each other.
I save all my “Brian tags”.
Thank you so much, Stella! I have fun making them – I’m so glad you enjoy them and keep them. ♥
Your tags are always adorable, but this one especially so! The cheery color combo made me smile right off. And yes, like Dawn, I now must have this set.
Thanks so much, Cindie! So happy you like it. ♥
Cute tag! Of course I resisted adding Summer Splash to my palette for nearly two years, and now you got me falling in love with it! Oh well, better late than never!
Ha! I always feel that way as In Colors are wrapping up. I fall in love quickly with some, but others take 1 year and 9 months to win me over. 🙂
I love this colorful card. Great color combo, and the tag is outstanding. Enjoy your day!
