Yesterday I shared a list of the March Online Exclusives bundles that are back in stock after their delayed debut. Yay! If you missed that post, you can catch up here.
When the new products arrived in the warehouse on Wednesday, I was excited to finally play with some of the goodies I picked up during demonstrator pre-order. Today I’m excited to share a card I made with the Springtime Scenes Bundle. I absolutely love this collection from the new Online Exclusives!
Here’s my card:
Here’s a look at this incredible, new bundle:
The leafy circle, bright flowers, sweet ladybug, lovely sentiment, frame, and versatile label all come from the Springtime Scenes Bundle. At first glance, you might think the coordinating circle dies are on the smaller side – but they are surprisingly (and wonderfully!) large. Each of the three dies creates a 3″ x 3″ circle. Love that!
My card features the circle die shown in the bottom left and the one in the bottom right of the image above. I’ll walk you through the layers in a moment, but I wanted to point those out while we’re still looking at the dies.
I mounted the focal elements on a Secret Sea pattern from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper. The playful design paired with that moody richness is such a fun combination. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the paper pack:
Building the Layers
To get started, I adhered a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White. Then, I cut a circle through both layers using one of the dies (any of the three would work beautifully).
That gave me the foundation to start layering:
- I added a 3-1/2″ square of Secret Sea Two-Tone cardstock behind the opening for a rich pop of color.
- This layer was mounted onto a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Granny Apple Green and then onto a standard Secret Sea card base.
- I cropped the leafy circle from Granny Apple Green cardstock and adhered it inside the opening.
- Using the open circle die, I cut a white frame and added it to the Granny Apple Green layer (this die creates both a 2-3/4″ circle and a thin frame).
- I cut the label from Thick Basic White and stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink.
- For added texture, I cropped leaves in both Basic White and Granny Apple Green. Tip: Before die-cutting the white leaves, I brushed them with a Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend for subtle variation.
- I die-cut the flowers from Strawberry Slush cardstock and layered them over tiny pieces of Daffodil Delight cardstock – tweezers definitely come in handy here!
- The ladybug was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Poppy Parade and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends, and then die-cut.
Here’s a look at this happy cluster at the heart of the card:
To finish the card, I added five flowers and three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels for a touch of shine and a little extra joy.
Last Thoughts
This bundle really shines when you start layering the elements together. What might seem simple at first glance opens up into something much more dynamic – especially with those larger circle dies anchoring the design.
And let’s be honest… any set that includes a variety of ladybugs automatically earns bonus points.
