A Simple Layout, Twice as Nice

I was playing with the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper to make a simple-and-sweet card. When I couldn’t decide which lovely patterns to showcase, I decided to just make two cards. What a great solution for a tricky dilemma! Here’s the card I made to share with you today:Forever Florals Bundle, Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s the second card I made with the same layout and the same papers:Forever Florals Bundle, Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingHere’s a look at the patterns and colors in the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, which includes three sheets each of four double-sided designs:Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 167168I showcased two designs from the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper on each of the cards, creating a clean and balanced look with just enough contrast to keep things interesting:
  • the largest panel measures 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • the smaller panel, aligned to the left side of the larger panel, measures 2-3/4″ x 5″
The sentiments on these cards are stamped and cropped with the Forever Florals Bundle, a recent Online Exclusives product. It’s quickly become a favorite – those elegant sentiments and coordinating frame dies make it so easy to create polished focal points.Forever Florals Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 167444I wrapped a strand of 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon behind the sentiment for a little added texture and finished each card with a trio of 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls for just the right touch of shine. And how gorgeous are these sentiments and coordinating frame dies?!Forever Florals Bundle, Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Last Thoughts

Sometimes the hardest part of creating is simply choosing where to start – or in this case, which pattern to use! By sticking with a simple layout and letting the paper take center stage, it’s easy to create multiple cards that each feel fresh and unique. If you ever find yourself stuck between options, take it as an opportunity to create more instead of less – you might just love every result.

  2. Hi Brian
I love this pack of DSP and thanks to you I now have 2 more CASE cards to make!
The Forever Florals bundle is on my wish list!
Thanks for sharing your awesome cards today!

    • I’m always happy to share, Dawn! The flower dies in that set are incredible, but I really, really love the style of the sentiments and the label dies. Thanks so much for your kind words.

  3. Lovely card design.

  4. 2 gorgeous ways to showcase spring floral patterns!

  5. Victoria Heinecke

This layout brings out the beauty of the DSP. I’m saving this idea – I can see using it a lot!

    • Thanks, Vicki! It’s a great layout to showcase coordinating panels of Designer Series Paper. I was going to center the smaller panel, but I liked how it looked along the left side. You will use it! ♥

  6. Beautiful cards both! And great for that day when you need a quick card. (haha, is any card really quick?)

  7. Thanks for the measurements for these beauties! I “owe” a non-profit organization 186 blank thank you cards for donations they received so you can bet I’m casing this design. (I’ll even get to use up some of the stockpiled ribbon I seem to be hoarding…) Thanks for the inspiration yet again.

    • I love that, Linda! This layout would work well – even without the ribbon – if you need to make lots. Just add rhinestones to a beautiful sentiment. Thanks, Linda!

  8. I love your solution – now you have two beautiful cards to send. Sorry, I’m so late in getting to this. We had no heat all day, so I was huddled under a blanket most of the day. It should be fixed tomorrow. I hope you had a wonderful day!
