We are just back from an amazing trip to Seattle, Alaska and Victoria. While so much of a trip like this is about breathtaking views and a welcome break from everyday routines, some of the greatest joy comes from spending time with wonderful friends.
As I shared on Sunday, one of the highlights of this trip was seeing my special friend, Emma Goddard. Before we left, I created a card to celebrate just how excited I was to see her. Here’s the card:
My card features three elements from the Silly Old Bear Suite Collection – the Hundred Acres Embossing Folder, the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper and the Sweet Words & Labels Stamp Set. If you’d like to see all of the products in this charming suite, click on the image below:
I fussy-cut the sweet Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet image directly from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper. This delightful collection is filled with adorable character images, heartwarming scenes and coordinating patterns that make creating easy and fun. Here’s a look at the colors and designs included in this must-have paper pack:
Because of trademark restrictions, the Silly Old Bear Suite is only available in the United States, so I thought Emma might enjoy getting a closer look at some of these exclusive products.
For the focal point, I blended a touch of Hydrangea Hue ink onto a Stylish Shapes circle and stamped the perfectly fitting sentiment from the Sweet Words & Labels Stamp Set. Here’s a closer look:
The background began as one of two panels I created during a team call a couple of months ago. I trimmed the panel into strips, layered them onto Basic White and Hydrangea Hue cardstock and then mounted everything onto an Early Espresso card base. The original background was created with an ink-to-paper technique using Basic Beige, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso inks. If you’d like to see how I made it, CLICK HERE.
Here’s a closer look at the texture and detail of those panels:
The texture comes from the incredible Hundred Acres 3D Embossing Folder, which adds so much depth and character to the finished card:
If you love this warm and inviting combination of colors as much as I do, I hope you’ll save it for future inspiration:
Last Thoughts
One of my favorite things about cardmaking is the opportunity to celebrate the people who matter most. This card was a small way to tell Emma how much I was looking forward to seeing her, and it made our time together even more special. Sometimes the best cards aren’t made for a birthday or a holiday – they’re made simply to celebrate friendship.

Good Morning Brian! This is a super awesome card. I am sure Emma loved it! Have a blessed day.
The card is even more gorgeous in real life 🩷 Loved spending time with you in person, a highlight of my trip too. Big hugs! Xxx
Warms my heart. Love the sentiment and these pooh-dorable characters!
What a very special card for sweet Emma!! It was great that she was on the trip with you. I’m sure it was a blast. Welcome home! Enjoy your day!
Absolutely precious. In July I celebrate re-joining Stampin’ Up 20 years ago (had 3 years & 5 months before that, and I’ve been a hobby demo since 2016). I’m going to have my monthly group of friends make this card. Thanks for your inspiration.
