Pretty Poinsettia Makes Quite an Impression

Stampin’ Up! is releasing an incredible collection of new products on July 1, and I couldn’t be more excited! This Online Exclusives release includes fresh summer goodies along with an amazing selection of Halloween, fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas products. There truly is something for everyone.

Today I’m sharing a card I created with the Pretty Poinsettia Bundle, available beginning July 1. This bundle features gorgeous dies that make quite an impression – literally! The coordinating Impressions Plate embosses beautiful detail into the cardstock before the dies cut the pieces, creating flowers with amazing texture and dimension.

Here’s the card I made to share with you today:

As you can see from the sample project above, these dies are perfect for blending, sponging and adding extra color to the flowers and leaves. I was tempted to do all of that, but instead I kept things simple. I embossed and die cut the flowers from Poppy Parade, Barely Blush and Basic White cardstock and layered them together. It’s such a classic color combination!

I love how these flowers came together. I assembled each layer with Mini Glue Dots, attached the flower centers with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhered the finished flowers to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Golden Glow embellishments in the centers add just the right touch of warm, earthy sparkle.

I loved the layout from the card I shared with you on Thursday so much that I decided to use it again. I kept the same pack of papers and measurements but swapped the Pecan Pie layer for Basic Beige and centered the two patterned paper strips. It’s amazing how just a couple of small changes can give a layout a completely different feel.

These poinsettias were so much fun to create, and I know I’ll be reaching for this bundle again and again throughout the holiday season. If you don’t already own the Impressions Plate, you’ll definitely want to add it to your next order. This is just the beginning – more emboss-and-cut products are on the way!
