I Adore You for FabFri98

I’m a stubborn sun-of-a-gun.  If you give me a color combination that is 100% tied to Halloween, I am determined to find a way to make it as non-Halloween as possible.  Such was the case with this week’s FabFriday color challenge – Basic Black, Old Olive, Perfect Plum and Pumpkin Pie are a perfect combination for the scariest day of the year.  I decided to use the colors to make a sweet-and-simple “I adore you”…

Happy Happenings for PPA322

My friend Susan Itell is hosting this week’s sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week.  True to Susan’s clean-and-classy style, the layout of her challenge is simple and fun – stripes and a big circle (you can really use any shape you want).  I immediately reached for one of the use-it-all-year-round pieces of paper from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack to create a neutral thank you card.  Here’s my card: And…

Spooky Fun with a Cute Ghost

Two weeks ago, I shared a super-fun Halloween card for the FabFriday sketch challenge.  The card features a large circle with a spooky Halloween scene – you can see that card here.  In my post for that card, I shared how I had pulled the focal scene from an abandoned card that I couldn’t get to work with the background I had created.  Today’s card showcases that abandoned background, repurposed with a different focal image. …

Bundle of Joy for GDP#057

The colors for this week’s Global Design Project challenge – Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride – are soft and sweet.  The purple is bright and bold, while the pink and green are soft as can be.  While the colors directed me right to a floral motif, I needed a card for a baby girl – a perfect starting point!  Here’s my card: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:…

A Flourish of Thanks for CTS193

This week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge gave me a chance to step away from Fall-themed projects to make a thank you card I really needed to make.  In an unexpected twist, I used Fall colors that make this card a great card for this time of year.  It can certainly be sent any time of year, but the soft orange and brown pair perfectly together with Very Vanilla for a soft, sweet card.  Here’s my…

Happy Always with Suite Seasons

I was in the mood for a simple, square card this week, so I whipped up a super-clean Christmas card.  This 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ card features the classic combination of Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.  I used Thick Whisper White to give this project a pop.  Here’s my card: Tips, Tricks and Reminders Suite Seasons.  I’m a sucker for great sentiments – I can always build a fun backdrop for a beautiful sentiment,…

May Flowers in October

Rae Harper-Burnet is this week’s Featured Designer at the Pals Paper Arts.  She’s chosen Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant as the inspiration for this week’s challenge.  While the colors have a distinctly Autumn appeal, I reached for May Flowers Framelits to create a clean and simple beauty.  Here’s my card: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card: Tips, Tricks and Reminders May Flowers Framelits.  The featured flower on this…

A Project by Mom on the Last Day for World Card Making Day Promotion

When Mom was visiting me at the beginning of September, we had a lot of fun making projects and hanging out in the Fungeon (that’s the adopted name for by stamping basement that combines “dungeon” with “fun”).  Because Mom was here for more than a week, our fun was sometimes  interrupted when I had to go to work at my job that doesn’t involve stamping.  Mom made some fun projects to take back to her…
