Happy Mother’s Day!

While I’m sure your Mom is swell, I can (with confidence) say my Mom is the greatest! Mom raised three boys all by herself, and I must admit she did a great job (don’t have a clue how she did it!). My mom is a no-nonsense, independent woman with an incredible sense of humor. Late last year, she retired from the State of South Carolina (after 28 years of service) and is certainly enjoying life. Whether she’s traveling to spend time with her grandchildren, site-seeing with her best friend Eunice or stamping in my basement, Mom is always enjoying herself.

My Mom has beautiful blue eyes, and she knows it. Her closet is filled with blue blouses that cause her peepers to pop! As such, I designed this simple and elegant card for Mom. When she was here last, she really enjoyed watercoloring, so I pulled out my watercolor crayons and painted this Fifth Avenue Floral flower with every shade of blue in all the Stampin’ Up! color families – I started with Bashful Blue and made my way to Night of Navy. The sentiment from Perfectly Penned is perfect for this card, and the satin ribbon adds a nice shine.

  1. BK – this is beautiful! I was surprised to see the Night of Navy card stock (haven’t played with that one yet!), and it looks FABULOUS with the Bashful Blue. This is also the first time I have seen you utilize the satin ribbon, which I think is perfect. I am always so impressed with ANYTHING you do with watercolors – you are truly talented!!! This was an absolutely lovely post and a beautiful tribute to your mom. I know she will be so thrilled to receive this card that was made just for her!

    • I think I’ll keep you around, Brooke! You are too good to me. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to bringing you along on this journey with me.

  2. What a heartfelt, beautiful post. Your Mom is a very special lady…and quite talented too. The card is just perfect.
