“B” Kind to One Another

If your name is Grace, please skip today’s post and don’t come back to it until mid-week next week. Thanks so much.

This past week, I received an amazing gift from one of my customers who is a passionate card maker and quilter. I don’t expect to receive gifts from customers, and I won’t embarrass her by telling you who the gift was from (although I gave you a pretty hefty clue in the first sentence of this post – were you paying attention?). I received a candle mat quilt – a beautiful quilt made for a table top decoration. This type of gift deserves three thank you’s:

  • an email to say “I received it”
  • a phone call to say “Did you get my email? You are so thoughtful!”
  • a hand-made card to say “See! I told you I appreciate it.”

Here’s the card I made for Grace:Best of Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

  • B-B-B-B-B-B. Today’s card is also a card I made for a fun card challenge Mary Fish posted on our private Pals Facebook page. She challenged us to create a card that uses product that begins with the first letter of our first name. Hello, my name is Brian, and my name begins with a B. That’s why I have used Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper, Best of Greetings stamp set and Bermuda Bay ink.
  • Background Pattern. I cropped the background piece of Designer Series Paper and then cut the pieces from corner to corner. I flipped two of the pieces over and glued them down. I didn’t intend to use the Crisp Cantaloupe design on the back of the polka dots piece, but it works.
  • B Kind to One Another. I watched a really interesting video today that says (in short) “we feel happy when we feel grateful, BUT we feel happier when we share our gratitude with those to whom we are grateful.” Makes sense, doesn’t it? In other words, we can “up the ante” on our happiness by properly thanking people and sharing our gratitude. Let’s hear it for happiness!Best of Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Stamp sets: Best of Greetings Papers: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper Inks: Bermuda Bay Accessories: 1-3/4″ Circle punch, 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

  6. Great card and I love the way you used the designer series paper. I am a quilter too and love to make “quilt” cards. I’ll be using this design too. Easier and faster than most quilt cards I have seen. I love Mary’s challenge too. Now what could I make with an “L”? Leaves, or Lovely as a tree made with Lucky Limeade or maybe just a card with lots of layers like you make. 🙂 Have a great weekend everyone and do “Lots” of stamping.
