The Paper Players issued a fun challenge for this week – a Clean and Simple project that incorporates leaves. This is perfect for me because (1) I love the clean and simple style and (2) I love leaves – well, I don’t really love leaves – let’s just say I have no ill will toward leaves.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Is that Cork? Yes. Well, kinda. I recently remodeled my kitchen. The cabinets and drawers were ripped out and replaced. I lined the base of the newly installed drawers with Con-Tact paper that has a thin covering of cork. I carried the leftover pieces to the Fungeon and introduced the scraps to my Big Shot and my Autumn Accents Bigz die. I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out – the cut is perfect!
- Chevron Background. There are all kinds of ways to create a beautiful chevron background – Positively Chevron background stamp, Designer Series Paper Stack chevron patterns, and piecing together strips of diagonally striped paper (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, click here). There’s another! By now, you probably recognize it as the Tag a Bag Gift Bags. I just love it here.
- Tying it all together. I guessed that the brown in the chevron bag is Soft Suede, but I was wrong. The color is most comparable to Baked Brown Sugar, and Baked Brown Sugar pairs wonderfully with Pool Party. I pulled in the Whisper White from the chevron bag by adding a Whisper White tag that’s stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and “attached” to the cork board with a Pool Party Candy Dot “push-pin.”
