Build-a-Kit Gift in a Fry Box

If you follow my blog, then you know how much I love the Fry Box Bigz Die in the new catalog.  The die was the first item in my first order, and I’m using it today.  I assembled a fry box and filled it with the pieces for quick-and-easy cards.  What a great gift!  Today’s post tells a story in pictures – and some words.  OK, so I guess the words tell a story – but there are pictures here, too.  🙂

I cropped a fry box from a piece of Real Red cardstock and another from Flashback Designer Series Paper.  I positioned the DSP inside the box to add a nice backdrop for the box.  The colors in this paper are perfect for a “fast food” theme, don’t you think?  Looks like ketchup and mustard to me.  Here’s the completed box:

Fry Box Bigz Die, Tag Talk, Something to Say, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI accented the fry box with Tag Talk and Something to Say and then added a handful of 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ pieces of Flashback Designer Series Paper.

With the DSP tucked inside the fry box, I added a handful of coordinated sentiments punched with the new 2″ Circle punch.  The sentiments are from #hello and Hi There.Fry Box Bigz Die, Stampin' Up!, Brian King Toss those in the fry box and then add a couple of sentiments (also from #hello).  I cropped them with the Itty Bitty Framelits and cropped them on either the left or right).  They can be used as an accent on almost any card:Fry Box Bigz Die, Stampin' Up!, Brian King Toss all that in those things in the fry box and then add some coordinated card stock to make 3″x3″ cards, and you’ve got a perfect gift for someone who likes to make cards but doesn’t have a lot of time. Fry Box Bigz Die, Stampin' Up!, Brian King Here are some of the cards I made with the items from this fun fry kit: #hello, Stampin' Up!, Brian King #hello, Stampin' Up!, Brian King#hello, Hi There, Stampin' Up!, Brian King #hello, Stampin' Up!, Brian King After all that, there are still leftovers for more cards…Fry Box Bigz Die, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingStamp Sets:  Hi There, #hello, Something to Say, Tag Talk  Papers:  Real Red, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla, Flashback Designer Series Paper  Inks:  Real Red, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Smoky Slate  Accessories:  Fry Box Bigz die, 2″ Circle punch, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you liked this project – I had fun creating it and sharing it with you.

  11. What a great idea!! are the card bases regular A2 size?? I “need” to get this fry box, have the hamburger one already. Like little gift ideas, thanks!

    • MaryJo, The box is rather small (definitely not a Supersized Fry) but adorable anyway. 🙂 The panels of paper that fit in the box sideways are 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. The cards are all 3″ x 3″ – the cardstock doesn’t fit in the box.

  12. I feel like we got a weeks worth of BK today!
Great project, Brian, and a fab way to show off the fry box…..and DSP…and stamps….

  20. This is such an awesome idea! Love the bright colors and fun sentiments! Thank you for sharing your creativity.

  21. Love how you thought “outside the box” with this clever idea! The colors are great and thanks for showcasing this DSP. I like it much better than when I saw it in the catalog.

  22. Michelle McDaniel

WOW – this is awesome! What a great little gift for someone. LOVE the colors you used and that stamp set. Totally want to CASE this!! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!!

  23. Both my daughter and daughter-in-law enjoy the handmade cards I make and would love to make them but don’t have the time. You just gave me a great gift idea for each of them. Super cute, Brian…..and they will totally love the Flashback DSP from “the olden days.” 🙂 Thanks much!

  24. Clever idea. I’ve been tying to think of ways to use both the hamburger box and fry box. I don’t want to order them until I can come up with many uses for them. I have purchased too many things that I never use or just use once or twice. My craft room is bursting with the overflow! I’m trying to be a little wiser in my choices. Thanks for always giving us such great ideas!

  25. Such a fun idea! Love your little fry box kit!

  26. Adorable in every way! I just love this fry box and can see endless ideas with it! The colors and DSP you chose were “spot on” – but then again, when is the “Kig” not spot on!
