Welcome to the November Pals Blog Hop! We are thankful you stopped by. This month we are showcasing projects that show our thanks, including both thank you and Thanksgiving themed projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Angie Valle-Peters at Paperluxuries,#2 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing projects.
My Thank You
Today’s “thank you” project is an extension of yesterday’s blog post – I’m growing a mustache during November (…errr…MOvember) to raise money for/increase awareness for men’s health issues like prostate cancer and testicular cancer. I debuted my look yesterday and shared a fun card with the Mustache Framelit (you can see it here). You were so kind with your comments and donations – I really appreciate it.
Today’s project, too, includes the Mustache Framelit and stays true to my clean-and-layered aesthetic. Because this is a Blog Hop, though, I had to up the ante a bit and … hold your breath for this one…I am using Glimmer Paper to add the texture and a little razzle dazzle to this card. Here’s my project:
This square card is a perfect backdrop for the bold, distressed sentiment and this shimmery mustache – if only mine were that perfectly shaped and glamorous. 🙂 This brown piece of Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack enhances this masculine card and offers a throwback vibe that fits well with the curly mustache.
Here are the steps I took to crop this mustache from the Champagne Glimmer Paper:
- I stepped into my Level A Hazmat suit and ventured to the farthest corner of the Fungeon where my glimmer paper and glitter are carefully stored.
- On an old, thrown-away-just-moments-later cutting plate, I cropped the mustache (rough side down so I could cleanly cut through the flat, backs side of the paper).
- I removed the cropped mustache and promptly used my lint roller to clean every surface around my Big Shot – table top, wall, floor, windows, ceiling.
- I retreated to the backyard to burn the Hazmat suit.
- I smiled at my shiny creation.
Just look how shiny he is under the right light:

I’m not sure how much I appreciated a hearty laugh so early this morning. It really woke me up and I had hoped to be able to go back to sleep for a bit.
I am hesitant to mention this ,but did you check out your new lip fur for GLITTER !
You must show us timely pictures of your growing project !
I think your card is cute !
You must love the hoppers, Brian, to pull out the glimmer paper, LOL! Really liked the card and enjoyed the post!
Ha ha, ditto on Sonny’s comment! 🙂
so I just have to ask. What exactly happened to you to cause such a hatred of glitter? Did glitter kill your parents? Were you a child and loved glitter and one day it turned on you and took your lunch money? were you looking for Christmas presents and glitter betrayed your trail? Why o why such animosity towards the shiny sparkly crafters herpes?
Love the glitter! I love the square card. Beautiful work as always.
glitter=ebola?
Also, funniest post ever.
Can’t stop laughing. Hazmat Suit, indeed. There has to be a back story about why you have developed a glitter allergy! No wonder you haven’t touched the glittery stars in your kit. You are an excellent card constructor and a wonderful writer to boot. Thanks for the “holly jolly’ blog this morning.
Great card Brian, I love everything about it. Awesome job
Love this! The only way it could be better is if you posted that hysterical photo of your own matching ‘stache! 🙂
Love the card and the awesome description of how the card was made. You crack me up!
Hilarious Brian! Love your card too. Alas, I played a bit with prisma glitter this weekend, still finding stray bits. . . I also reserve glitter for only special occasions, but the glitter paper is often found in my creations (it’s not as sneaky as the prisma glitter).
Great card, Brian, for a great cause. BTW, you wear the mustache well!
hahahaha, too funny! hazmat suit indeed, shocked you let the glitter paper invade a corner of the Fungeon. Love the card, CAS and what’s not to love about a shiny, glittery ‘stache?
Well Brian, you are being so very brave growing a mustache and handling GLITTER!!, even if it’s on Glimmer Paper, I’m so impressed. It was very smart of you to take all of those precautionary steps to make sure no trace of GLITTER stays behind. I can imagine you walking to the ”dark side” of the Fungeon to work with this nemesis of yours, my dear, ha, ha, ha!! you are hilarious!!!
I agree with Sonny, I hope you made a pass on your beautiful mustache with the lint roller, just to make sure no speck is hanging on it and, I will further agree with my friend about you posting more pictures of your handsome face sporting that awesome mustache you are growing, I bet that you could grow it to look like the one on your card…..minus the GLITTER!!!!!

Brian, Brian, Brian – you are not supposed to EVER, EVER, EVER let on to what your Achilles heal is. You know what happens when people find your weak spot! LOL Now, if you make a follower unhappy in any way, you have left yourself open to receiving an envelope filled with glitter! Or even worse, a gorgeous card just covered in the shiny stuff! Oh my – now I’m worried. (Yeah right!)
Oh BTW, I love the card. Very impressive for sure.
Hey Mustache Man, love the glitter and colors together..fun card..thanks for sharing!
Glimmer, shimmer and shine…that mustache looks mighty fine! 🙂
Thanks for your description of your glitter stashe step-by-step tutorial….seriously though, your cards are always so freaking perfect!
Love the glitter mustache! And, the thank you from Dude, You’re Welcome looks great paired with it! Very fun card!
Love it!!! Absolutely adorable!! I can’t believe you pulled out the glitter paper though!! WOW!!! Fabulous job my friend!!!
That is too funny! Love your shiny creation and I think you look handsome with the new mustache!
Brian, love the card, and I am with you on the whole glitter thing! I love bling and shiny stuff but I can’t stand glitter because it goes EVERYWHERE.
Cute Brian! How’s the “stache” coming along?
