It’s Your Birthday for FabFri64

This week’s FabFriday sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to pair two things from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog that make me very happy – this pattern of paper from Flashback Designer Series Paper and this fun sentiment from Big News.  One will continue into the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog, while the other will soon be voted off the island.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Big News.  I just love this stamp set – and I’m excited it’s carrying over to the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog.  Big sentiments are on-trend, and these big sentiments give you a variety of great ones – birthday, baby, congratulations, wedding and admiration.  They are all there.  If you don’t have this set, you should definitely take another look – you won’t regret it.  🙂
  • No Flower.  You see that flower on Mindy’s sketch?  The flower serves as a suggestion for an object to be included – doesn’t have to be a flower.  Since this was a birthday card with an (otherwise) masculine appeal, I decided to not add a flower.  Instead, the Woo Hoo! banner from the Big News set works perfectly.  It adds the needed element AND contributes to the joy in the sentiment.  If only there were a sentiment that said, “Yippee Doodle Dee!”  🙂
  • Color Combination.  It’s no secret that I love this piece of Flashback Designer Series Paper – I’ve hoarded this page and make a big deal of it every time I use it.  Not only do I love the interlocking patterns in this paper, but I also love the colors.  If you like these colors, too, feel free to save this off:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
