InKing Royalty Blog Hop: Bundled for the Holidays

Bundled Up for the Holidays Blog Hop BannerWelcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop.  Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog is just around the corner (it’s live on September 1) – and this amazing book is filled to the brim with incredible bundles at discounted prices.  Who doesn’t love to save with bundles?!?  Today we are Bundled Up for the Holidays as we celebrate these amazing stamp set bundles from the Holiday Catalog.   After you read my post, I  hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Let it Snow with Stampin’ Up!’s Snow Place Bundle

There’s classy, there’s cutesy and there’s downright adorable.  I couldn’t resist going the “adorable route” for this blog hop – and these penguins have got “adorable” locked down.  Here’s my project:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Snow Place Bundle.  My project today features one of the most adorable bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog – the Snow Place stamp set with the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits Dies.  It was like paper doll dress up – start with a figure and then add a hat, add a scarf, add an ice cream cone.  The options are [seemingly] endless with these fun add-on stamps with coordinating Framelits.  Do you see how many Framelits there are?!?  How can you resist these adorable snowmen, and who won’t want to decorate with this penguin?

  • A Slippery Slope.  I created a fun, snowy hillside for these penguins using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.  I cropped the image with three little trees (and then snipped off the trees) to create a perfect slope for these guys to play on.  While both penguins are, in fact, the exact same size, the one on the right appears to be smaller because of his position lower on the slope and because I added the height-enhancing hat to the one on the left.

  • Crisp and Cool Color Combination.  I just love the pairing of rich red and pale aqua.  I knew I wanted to make the snow hill Pool Party, so Cherry Cobbler wasn’t far behind.  I also love to pair Pool Party with Real Red (it’s more playful than the richer, deeper Cherry Cobbler), but I like the idea of creating sophisticated penguins with their Cherry Cobbler accessories.Stampin' Up! 14. So cute! I spent a lot of time looking at these penguins and you are right (of course). The one on the left definitely looks bigger and fatter than the one on the right. Very interesting to realize how a placement can change a perspective. I’ll have to remember that. Thanks Brian………….I’m off to check out the rest of the crew.

  15. These penguins are too cute. Love all the little details on them. One more thing to add to my wish list.

  16. Great idea to use the Sleigh Ride Edgelits this way! And I love how you made the Pool Party “snow” wider than the stamped background. I would never have thought to do that. It makes a huge difference in the layout balance – for the better!

  17. Well these guy’s are darn cute. You always have such great detail. “Hi” to mom. Have a great day.

  18. This set is one of my favorites from the Holiday catty, this penguins and snowmen are just adorable and all the super cute accessories really makes them even more charming.
I’m not at all surprised that you thought about how to use those Edgelits to make “snow banks” for your little critters to stand on, you are always thinking outside the box.

  19. Love the look of this bundle. Very nice cards Brian

  20. Awww! So cute and fun! I want penguins!
