A couple of weeks ago I shared a super-simple, super-sweet card with you for a Can You Case It? Challenge. Here’s the card I shared (to read the original post for this project, click here):
When I needed to make 50 swap cards for this weekend’s World Card Making Day event, I knew I wanted to use this card as inspiration. Why? Well, I already mentioned the card is super-sweet and super-simple, and aren’t those key components to a card you have to make over and over and over? Well, another reason I used this card as inspiration is that it showcases Designer Series Paper so well.
For my swap card at World Card Making Day, I CASED this my own Christmas card to make a fun, sweet Halloween card. I flipped the Designer Series Paper to the bottom. Here is my card:
On my Christmas card, I featured a medium-sized enamel dot on the left side of the center band. To create the same look on the mass of cards I created for the swap, I colored some White Perfect Accents with a black Sharpie marker. Perfect accent!
Here’s a quick shot of the variety of patterns I used from this paper – all Basic Black and Very Vanilla patterns.
Stamp Sets: Cheer All Year Papers: Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Tangelo Twist, Very Vanilla Inks: Tangelo Twist Accessories: White Perfect Accents, Hexagon punch (for banner tip), Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be sharing lots more from the World Card Making Day event this coming week. I hope you’ll come back to see what fun we had!
Brian
What a perfect sketch to show off the darling paper!
Love them.
🙂
Great sketch for any season Brian! I’m CASEing it too!!! Have fun today and hugs to all the Royals and Pals. 🙂
Such a good swap card! Of course! Sounds like you are having a GREAT World Cardmaking Weekend! Of course! 🙂
The DSP Master! All spooky and awesome. xo
I think the best part is that you are making so many cards with the same design yet the use of the DSP meant that every card was NOT the same. I bet everyone loved it, I know I do. Thanks again for the inspiration Brian.
Great cards, Brian. You are always giving us easy tips to make our cards better. I love this design and am going to CASE it too.
When I looked at my swaps I noticed that black “enamel dot” and thought where did he get that! Hoping you would tell us today! I don’t have those pearls but maybe I need to rethink that. Love it all – you, the card, WCMD. Thanks for everything!!!!!
Really cute w/ different dsp. I like the Enamel Dot colored .Guess I NEED to get those next . Sounds like WCMD is a success !
I didn’t get your swap but I saw it and it was typical Brian King awesomeness! WCMD 2015 was a blast!
Mr. Brian,
These are great, my stamp ladies like the clean crisp lines without getting too thick (that make the postman cranky); thanks for sharing.
Great cards – all the patterns were fun in the paper pack. I would think less chance of getting bored making 55 of these cuties with the different patterns. Great idea about the white perfect accents – I always hated coloring a pearl – coloring these seems like that is what they were made for. Seems like I use a lot of black ones. Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait to hear more about the weekend!
It just occurred to me that I didn’t get to swap with you! Bummer! Cute card. Great event. 🙂
Love that Haunting card!!!
Great card! Love the simplicity with a great touch of DSP. Will be sure to CASE it soon! Hope all went well this weekend!
Great layout for papers I’m hoarding!
