This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

Congratulations on Your New Home
What a special moment it is to move into your first home to create or build a family! Families share wonderful experiences and amazing transitions together, but moving and settling into a new home can be stressful (is that an understatement?). For today’s family-themed blog hop, I thought a lovely, handmade card would be a great way to celebrate a family’s transition into their new home. Here’s the card I made:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Welcome Words and Bravo. I just love these three little houses from Welcome Words – there are only three, but I stamped them three times to create a beautiful row of homes. By coloring them with different, non-traditional colors, these homes are whimsical and inviting. All nine of these little homes line up perfectly on top of this “congratulations” from the Bravo photopolymer stamps set. You should have seen the smile on my face when I realized how perfectly these two stamp sets came together. 🙂 Here’s a peek at these two photopolymer stamp sets:
- Sweet Color Combination. When you want soft and sweet, there’s nothing like the combination of Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Pink Pirouette. Add in a touch of bright Daffodil Delight, and you’ve got a perfectly sweet color combination. These houses are perfect in these wonderful colors, and they all look wonderful against the backdrop of hearts on Wisteria Wonder. If you like this combination, too, feel free to save this:
- Don’t forget the Envelope! When you create your very own card, it’s super-easy to coordinate the envelope with the card. I stamped the same three houses on the front corner of the envelope and left them uncolored. The image gives the recipient a hint at what’s inside the envelope without giving away too much. Such an easy way to add a special touch!
Stamp Sets: Welcome Words, Bravo Papers: Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Basic Black, Have a Cuppa Designer Series paper Stack, Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black, Stampin’ Write Markers (Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky) Accessories: Banner punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks so much, Joke! Glad you like it. 🙂
Love this card – the houses are terrific.
Thanks, Linda! They are cute, huh?
The houses are darling and making me think I need that stamp set
Lynn
I think you do need it, Lynn. 🙂 I love this set.
“It’s takes a village” to show off all these sweet pastels!
🙂 Thanks, Mary!
OMG! Love everything about this Brian!
Wow! Thanks, Sue! I’m so happy you like it.
Love the stamped envelope. Always one of my favorite things to do. Great card. I always struggle with new home cards.
Thanks, Dianne! I don’t always decorate the envelope, but this one seems easy and fun.
Brian, your creative eye never ceases to amaze me. You have taken a stamp set that I have passed by so many times and you have seen great uses for it. You are a real talent! You are tke King! Love this card!
Nancy in Colorado
Awww…thanks so much, Nancy! That comment makes me so happy. I’m thrilled to know you. <3
Great card… and timely, too. I have a Welcome to the Neighborhood card to make but I totally missed this stamp set with the houses in it. Love the chimney smoke!
It’s cute, isn’t it? I hope this card can inspire you to make a sweet welcome card for your new neighbor.
Brian Love the card. You strike again with the over looked.
Thanks, Pamela! The overlooked can be pretty special, too. 🙂
Oh Brian – this card is outstanding! The color combo is fantastic but what you did with it is just plain gorgeous! Again, you used a stamp set I glossed over and had to go back and look at once I saw this card. Anyone would be grateful to receive it and getting a card when you move into a new place, whether a house or an apartment, gives you a moment of joy among the craziness of settling into a new place. I love it!
Thanks, Grace. I’m glad you like it. I thought these colors would be really sweet and welcoming, too. Glad you see that!
Fantastic card Brian! I love this idea. Great colours too.
Thanks, Kylie! <3
Brian…I thought, what set is that….absolutely love, love, love this card and the colors are perfect!
Thanks, Katrina! I’m so happy you like it. You are so kind.
I really do want to grow up to be you!!! Beautiful color combo and card 🙂
Awww…thanks, Karen! Thanks for your kind words.
What is NOT to love about this card? Those colors!! Those little banners!! Thanks for sharing your talent, Brian!
Thanks so much, Patti! It’s a fun event and fun card to make. Glad you like it.
What a delightful card, Brian! Those colorful houses remind me homes I saw on the shores of Aruba. Their homes are all lined up, close together, and so colorful! Many yellows, blues, greens and yes, even lavenders. I love the Wisteria Wonder base and paper too! Wonderful!
Thanks, Bobbi! I started to make them bright and bold like the row houses in Charleston, SC but went with soft and sweet. Glad you like it.
Love the purple..hoping for more DSP with purples in new catty…great coloring, too!
🙂 I knew you’d like this from the get-go. 🙂

Great colors, perfect card to celebrate a new home
Brian, great card and interpretation of the families theme. After all, the home is the heart of the family. Speaking of hearts, I love the heart coming from the fireplaces. Super sweet detail. I, too, have overlooked this stamp set like so many others.
I adore that sweet line of little houses and the pastel colors look so beautiful. You used one of my favorite shades of purple for this fabulous card.
Adorable card Brian. It makes me happy.
