Gift of Love for FMS239

This week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge gave me the inspiration to make a super-sweet “thinking of you card” for a friend.  While I strayed a bit from the sketch to fit the pieces where they needed to go, the overall inspiration is still there.  Here’s my sweet-and-simple card:

And here’s the banner created by my kind and talented friend, Cindy Hall, for this week’s challenge:FMS239

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Three Quick-and-Easy Steps.  Boy, oh, boy!  I love this bushel of gladiolas.  The stamp set, Gift of Love, is one of many Host Sets you can earn with Stampin’ Rewards.  It only takes three quick-and-easy steps to create this beautiful image.  I stamped the outline in Archival Basic Black, stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and stamped the leaves in Mint Macaron.  No messy watercoloring to create a beautiful, watercolored look – I like it!  If you missed the first card I made with this set, you can see it here.  Here’s a look at this amazing set:

  • Three Stamp Offerings.  You likely already know that Stampin’ Up! offers three types of stamps – wood-mount rubber, clear-mount rubber and photopolymer.  Stamps are generally offered in either (a) photopolymer or (b) your choice of clear-mount rubber or wood-mount rubber.  Did you know that some of the stamps in the Annual Catalog are offered in all three types of stamps?  Butterfly Basics (the sentiment and small butterfly showcased in my card today) is one of those sets.  Here’s a list of the stamps offered in all three stamp types (you can click on the stamp names to see the photopolymer version of the stamp):
  • A Little Pop of Black.  Let’s just agree that Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride were made for one another, OK?  Thanks.  While the colors pair perfectly, it’s the thin borders of black around the flowers and the panels on this card that make these sweet and soft colors pop.  If you like these colors together, too, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up!
