Cookie Cutter Christmas Cutie

As if the title of this blog post doesn’t already say it all, I’m excited to share a super-cute project with the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle.  I created this card with a sketch by Beth Beard for the Pals Paper Arts challenge and shared it with my local club this month.  They loved putting him together.  Here’s my card for this week’s PPA sketch challenge:

  • Cookie Cutter Christmas.  This super-sweet bundle was the first item on my Favorite Things from the Holiday Catalog list on September 4 (you can see that post here to see all my other favorite items).  I paired the sweet Gingerbread man – stamped with a brand new Soft Suede stamp pad – with a top hat and candy cane cane from Snow Friends.  I added a little Real Red heart from the coordinating punch.  Could he be more adorable?  He’s just hanging out in style.

  • Perfect Pairing.  While the gingerbread man pairs perfectly with the accessories from Snow Place, the simple (and sweet) sentiment from Better Together (from the Annual Catalog) is a perfect one for this card.

Not only does the “Merry Christmas” fit perfectly on the base of this card, but I adore the paired sentiment that’s simply stamped on the inside of the card – gives me just the right amount of space to write a personal message.  Love!Cookie Cutter Christmas, Snow Place, Better Together, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  • My Candy Cane Lane Mistake.  The square of paper I used on this card is from Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  The page contains tiny Christmas trees and dots.  I explained to my club that I added the Basic Black sentiment to the card front to add a third touch of black – the hat, the sentiment and the paper.  One of my smartie club members immediately pointed out that the paper is Early Espresso.  Ummm…yeah!  I still like how the hat balances the sentiment – just those two pops of Basic Black.

Stamp Sets:  Cookie Cutter Christmas, Better Together  Papers:  Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper, Thick Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Real Red  Inks:  Soft Suede, Real Red, Archival Basic Black  Accessories:  Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Snow Friends Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals
