Thanks! for an InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not just those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group!  I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you.  I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

thanks-blog-hop

Welcome to this month’s InKing Royalty Blog Hop!  This month’s hop is dedicated to showing our thankfulness.  We are celebrating with thank you notes, cards that show our appreciation and projects of thanksgiving.  We are excited to share our projects with you and hope they inspire you to create!  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

THANKFUL THOUGHTS

The “thank you” card I’m sharing today is a bit of an enigma – it doesn’t actually say “thank you” (on the front), but it does feature three great products that were new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Annual Catalog.  You’re going to want to make this simple card for yourself.  Here’s my card:

Thankful Thoughts, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, thank you card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Thankful Thoughts.  I adore this sentiment – “If you could see my face, you’d see the smile you put on it!”  What a perfect way to say “thank you” to someone who showed you kindness or gave you a wonderful gift.  It’s a simple card to make, so it’s even appropriate for someone who gave you a “meh” gift.  🙂  I stamped this sentiment on Thick Whisper White cardstock and cropped it with a large circle from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.  The thick paper allows me to pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals without layering it first (I’d add an additional layer of cardstock behind regular Whisper White or Very Vanilla for support).  There are so many great sentiments in this set:

  • Panels of Serene Scenery.  I love when a paper stack contains similar patterns in different colors.  When I saw this Old Olive and this Delightful Dijon page in the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, I knew I needed to use them together on one card.  Although the patterns on the two pieces are exactly the same, I didn’t worry about lining up the dots perfectly – that would have taken this “simple” card to “not-really-that-simple”.  I simply layered a piece of the Old Olive page on top of the Delightful Dijon page.  Done!
  • Color Combination for Fall.  Delightful Dijon and Old Olive look great together so these pages worked perfectly on the front panel of this card.  I added a layer of Whisper White for a pop and placed all that against a Crumb Cake card base.  Crumb Cake softened both colors to pull them together for a great Fall combination.  If you like this color combination, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up! 4. Gorgeous card. Just thought I would let you know that when I pull up my email on my iPhone which just had the latest update, I can no longer see the photo of your card. I can see it on my computer and on my iPad but not on my phone. I have to click through to the actual website to see the card. I just thought I would let you know because maybe the new iPhone update means there are new settings for posts. Have a great day!

  5. Fun hop Brian, enjoyed seeing all the great cards and projects. (Karen and Lisa’s blogs would not click over to “comments” for some reason).
