Celebrate You with Rose Garden Thinlits

CAS(E) this Sketch has a fun sketch this week – a sentiment with an image above.  How beautifully simple is that?!  I chose to make a card with all Pearl Pizzazz and Whisper White – and I love the outcome.  Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Rose Garden Thinlits, Birthday Blast, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, CTS202 And here’s the CAS(E) this Sketch layout that that inspired my card:

CTS201Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Rose Garden Thinlits.  The Rose Garden Thinlits have been very popular since they were first introduced a year ago.  While most projects I’ve seen with these beautiful dies focus on the really large rose and coordinating leaves,  I’m showcasing the smallest rose in the set (the one in the top, right corner of the dies show below).  I added no pinks, red, yellows or purples – I simply cropped the flower in Whisper White and let that thin frame play against the Pear Pizzazz.  With a Precision Base Plate and a Die Brush, this flower was super-easy to crop out to showcase here.

  • Sneak Peek at Birthday Blast.  While the star of this card is the Rose Garden Thinlits flower, you might not recognize the oversized, fun sentiment.  “Celebrate You” is from another must-have bundle in the upcoming Occasions Catalog – this book amazing, and I’m sure your wish list will just keep getting bigger and bigger.  🙂  While this bundle is designed with amazing sentiments and images that are perfect for a birthday celebration, the sentiments can work with other themes, too.  Here’s a peek at this wonderful bundle – available starting January 4, 2017.  Not too much longer to wait!

  • A Whole Lot of Green.  I love green, and Pear Pizzazz is one of my favorites.  With just small borders of white, I let Pear Pizzazz be the star of this card.  Why Pear Pizzazz?  It’s the closest color we currently have to Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2017 – Greenery.  I think this shade is somewhere between Pear Pizzazz, Lucky Limeade (a retired color) and Kiwi Kiss (also retired).  Still, my primarily Pear Pizzazz card is an appropriate shout-out to Pantone for this great color.  You can click on the color below if you want to read more about Pantone’s selection and see a fun video about this color: pantone-color-of-the-year-2017-greenery-16
