Farewell, Watermelon Wonder!

For the last week, I’ve been sharing brand new projects with each of the five retiring 2015-2017 In Colors:  Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush.  These colors have been an active part of my life for the past two years, and I’ll sorely miss them when they retire at the end of May, but I also look forward to the new colors that will fill the spot that’s missing when they leave.

2015-2016 In Colors, Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog PreorderWe still have several months with them, so why am I telling you about them now?  There are two reasons you should be considering these colors now:

  1. Once it is announced that the colors will officially retire, we will likely see a mad-dash to gather up all the In Colors – and they will be gone before you know it.
  2. If you love these colors and want to hoard the paper or ink refills, get them now.
  3. While these colors may not be in the 2016-2017 Catalog, they are all great colors.

Here are the projects I’ve already shared with these retiring In Colors:

WATERMELON WONDER

There are so many things to love about Watermelon Wonder!  This coral-pink first burst into our lives in 2015 and is soon on its way out.  It’s a bright and beautiful color and comes with a whole bunch of cheer.  I made this card with Watermelon Wonder and some great products from the Occasions Catalog and shared it with my local club members who also had fun with it, too.  Here’s my card:

Nailed It, Frozen Treats Framelits Dies, Greatest Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Watermelon WonderHave you noticed the adorable smiley (and frowny) faces in the Nailed It stamp set?  While these faces pair perfectly with the tools in the set, they also pair with the ice cream and Popsicle shapes in the Cool Treats suite of products.  I couldn’t help but to make smiley Popsicles.  I cropped each icy treat with the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies (once in Crumb Cake and once with the other color).  I then snipped the Popsicle stems from the Watermelon Wonder and Soft Sky treats and then glue them to the Crumb Cake pieces.  This fun piece of striped paper is from the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Soft Sky and Watermelon Wonder were made for each other – I’ll be sad when Watermelon Wonder goes away.

If you like this combination of colors as much as I do, you can save this:

While I only used the Framelits for this project, the Cool Treats Bundle is a must-have.  Here’s a look at the entire bundle:
