If you visited with me yesterday, then you are already saw my swap card for Monday night’s Paper Pixies Team Meeting.Β I made a sweet, fun Halloween card with the Creep it Real stamp set – if you missed it, you can see it here.
It’s always fun to hang out with my team members – whether we are at a big event (like World Card Making Day or On Stage), at a small event (Subway events or smaller team meetings) or engaged in online discussions (our private Facebook group or monthly team meetings), we always have a fun time together.
The Paper Pixies is Julie DiMatteo’s Stampin’ Up! group (Julie and most of her team are also a part of my InKing Royalty team).Β It’s also the name of Julie’s amazing blog – The Paper Pixie.Β Here’s a look at the team members who came to Monday’s event (I’m the tall one in the back with the rugged good looks):
Today I want to share with you the make-and-takes (from Sandra and Julie) and the fun swaps I received from this fun meeting.
Sandra’s Make-and-Take
Sandra’s Make-and-Take was a fun, folded square that featured fun images from Carols of Christmas.Β Here’s a look at the finished project:
Cute, huh?Β When she unties the ribbon and opens it up, it looks like this:
How fun!?Β Here’s a quick instruction so you can play with this at home.Β Start with a square piece of cardstock (we used a 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece).Β Fold it in half both ways and then diagonally one way:
Invert the diagonal folds so that they both fold in.Β Fold the card over like this:
It’s almost like I’m live-streaming from the team meeting, huh?Β The front of the card is popped up with Dimensionals so that the ribbon can move underneath.
Julie’s Make-and-Take
Julie’s make-and-take featured the Christmas Quilt Bundle.Β Here’s a look at her card:
She introduced many of the team members to the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets found on page 203 of the Annual Catalog.Β If you haven’t ordered those, please take another look.Β They make it so easy to glue down these Thinlits – or any die cuts.Β We adhered a piece of this sheet to the Real Red cardstock before running it through the big shot to cut this die.Β We simply pealed off the backing and stuck down the die.Β So easy!Β What a cute card!
Swaps
Not all of the team members brought swaps to the Paper Pixies get-together, but everyone enjoyed them.Β πΒ Here are some shots of the swaps I did receive:
Lori created a collection of cute Halloween cards using some super-fun cards with retired Halloween papers.Β I love her layering on this card:
Mariana loves to make 3-D items – and I love to receive 3-D items.Β She created some amazing candy holders with the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.Β Such a cute project!Β See the cat punch tag on the front?Β It’s two tags that open up with a fun sentiment inside.
Nolly made some adorable corner page markers with the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and some gorgeous die cuts from the Eastern Medallion Thinlits.Β This paper is perfect for these origami folds.Β Such a great smile, huh?
Mary Jo created some sweet cards with this retired flower stamp.Β She created some with Pacific Point and some with Rich Razzleberry.Β All of them were gorgous!
Amy made a gorgeous card with lots of bling and dimension – on the outside “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…”Β On the inside, “but if the white runs out, I’ll drink red” from the Half Full stamp set in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.Β Leave it to Amy to make a card that’s both beautiful AND funny.
Sandra made a sweet 3″ x 3″ card with the Daisy Delight stamp set and coordinating Daisy punch.Β ON the outside, it’s a simple card.
But the inside pops open with a bunch of beautiful daisies that are all connected for an amazing 3-D effect.Β This picture shows Sandra’s excitement but doesn’t so much show how awesome this is when opened up:
This shows it a little bit better – there are six daisies inside this card.Β Each is folded and glued for an amazing pop.Β Somehow the pictures just look like a mount of daisy petals.
Julie made an adorable Halloween treat box (holds three Ghirardelli chocolates inside).Β The 2″ strip wraps around the box and is punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper.Β She decorated the boxes with Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.
Since I shared all the others, I thought you’d also like to see how I presented my swap card to the group – with all the silliness and showmanship I could muster.
What do you think?Β Aren’t these amazing projects?Β Don’t you love these smiling faces?Β I can’t get enough of them!Β I hope you’ll leave a comment below to let these team members know how much you appreciate their artistry.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

Thanks so much for sharing, love ’em all…couple quick questions, on the 1st one, where u use the 5 1/2 sheet, u only put pop ups on the front for the ribbon to slide? Was wondering if u put on the back too? Do u know what size to cut the squares? Thanks again, can’t wait every morning for your page to come in my email, u make my morning always!!! Please thank your friends for sharing, they did awesome work!
Hi Kathy, Thanks for your comments. The ribbon slides under the panel on the front of the card and wraps around the back. There’s no panel on the back of the card to tuck under. You could easily glue down the ribbon, but we let ours wrap freely around the folded card. You can fold any size of square this way and then measure the spaces where you want to create an additional panel. It was fun!
Hi Kathy,
The cherry cobbler square is 2 5/8″ and the whisper White squares are 2 1/2″ .. I’m glad you liked it ?
Thank you sooooo much for the sizes, I’ve made one practice card already …they are so stinkin cute, paper hugs
Yay! So glad to hear it. <3
Had to case it, but I glued my ribbon under front paper, gals as class loved them.wanted to send u photo, but no place to do that, thanks again for sharing!
Yay! I’m so glad to hear it. I’ll email you in hopes that you can send me pictures – would love to see what you made. π
Now that looks like a fun meeting!! The cards are beautiful and sooo creative!! Love everyone’s smiles!
Thanks for you comments, Candy! We had so much fun – and these smiles are completely infectious.
Good morning Brian,
Thanks to everyone for sharing their project. I especially like Marianna’s treat hat. Is there a tutorial for that?
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Hey Lesa, They are all so wonderful! I found a tutorial from Julie Davidson online from 2013. I think Mariana adapted the size a bit, but I’m not 100% sure. You can see Julie’s post and tutorial here: http://juliedavison.blogspot.com/2013/10/video-halloween-witch-hat-treat-box.html
Cute Paper Pixies and cute projects! Thanks for sharing Brian! π
Thanks, Dawn! It’s a fun group, and we had a lot of laughs. I’m glad you like them!
A super talented group! All of the projects are awesome!
You are right, Jackie! Such fun! Thanks for your comments.
I don’t know what I love more. The beautiful projects, sweet smiles or your “rugged good looks!”
I’m going to assume you are most impressed with my rugged good looks, Mary, but I understand that you need to go with one of the other choices. π Thanks!
Thanks for all of the pictures of this talented group`s swaps ! Each one would be fun to make . I could not help ,but gawk at that unusually large PIXIE in the back of this photo. !!! They grow big in Georgia !!
I love to visit Julie`s blog …..she makes PIXIE size cards often . She calls them 3×3`s ……fun !!
Thanks for your comments, Sonny! The large pixie in the background is only an honorary Pixie. π This is a fun group – I would love for more of them to share their projects online (we only get to see them in our private Facebook group). Julie’s blog is amazing – love her 3″ x 3″s.
Oooooh, I love them all , and those pictures are super sweet , great projects

Brian, I love it when you share pictures of the events you attend, especially when you are in the company of such talented ladies.
Love all of this sweet Pixies, especially the handsome one standing tall in the background, Sonny is right, there has to be something in the Georgia water π
XO
Maria.
Thanks for your comments, Maria! It almost appears as though the big pixie is “looming” over these sweet pixies. π <3
Thanks, Brian, for sharing these great cards and projects. I agree that is a very talented group. I’m going to CASE several of these. Enjoy your day!
Yay! I’m so glad you like these projects as much as I do. What a fun group!
What an adorable group esp the one with the rugged good looks!!! Awesome card for the swap!
Tee hee. It’s funny how y’all pick up on things in my post that I forgot I wrote. π I appreciate your comments, Windy!
Brian I love smiling happy faces, this group is delightful! I can imagine the fun everyone had, and hear the laughter that you created with your humorous wit. Great job on all the members fun projects, with a special shout out to Mariana for the witch hat favor!
Thanks for your comments, Katrina. I couldn’t agree with you more! Such fun! <3
Glad you pointed out that you were the person with the rugged good looks. The casual reader might have been confused.
Wow, the Paper Pixies prepare perfect projects! I love all the cute folds and of course anything with candy!
I like to be clear and specific, Dianne. π Love the alliteration of your comment. That needs to be a tagline somewhere. <3
What a bunch of gorgeous people! The projects were super–the witch’s hat was especially cute, the folded square and Christmas quilt cards really got my attention. I like anything Halloween, so of course I loved your card, Brian–loved the way you incorporated those distressed circles from Wood Words behind the Halloween faces. The haunted house card is great. So much talent in your group!
Wow! Thanks for the kind comments on so many of the projects! I’m sure they will appreciate the positive feedback. I’m so glad you like them.
Julie has the cutest downline ever! Such talented gals! Her upline is kinda cute too!
I think I have the cutest downline ever – since my downline also includes Julie. π She’s awesome! You’ll get to see some of these women at World Card Making Day. Yay! <3
Oh Gee Brian – now you have me thinking that maybe I should move to Georgia so I could meet all these pixies, especially the one with the rugged good looks! Let me know if it looks like Georgia will begin getting snow in the winter and I’ll be there! The other alternative would be to have the pixies move north and enjoy the beauty of a ‘noreaster once in a while! LOL Every single one of the swaps was fabulous and every singe member of the pixies is just adorable. Thanks so much for sharing all these beautiful creations. You are one special guy!
Oh, Grace – there’s a very, very, very small chance that I will relocate to Maine. While I love cool weather, I don’t think I’d survive in all that snow. We wish you lived closer, too – what fun we’d have! Thanks for your comments!
Thanks for the commentary on each project. They are all keepers! Now just to find the time to escape in paper! Oh hey – a long weekend is coming up!
You’re right, Nancy – they are all keepers. What a fun group with some fun projects. I’m looking forward to the long weekend – it might just give me time to get all caught up. π
Oh so much love for this post, you & your rugged good looks, and my Paper Pixies! Thank you for your incredible re-cap of our event! Can’t wait for our next one!
Thanks, Julie! It was perfectly fun! Thanks for the invitation to join you. <3
I love this… THANK YOU BRIAN!! We always have so much fun at our events and I love anytime I get to spend time with you… thank you for been such an incredible leader … can’t wait for the next one! ?β€οΈ

You have an amazing group of talented friends. Wish I lived in Georgia! I would love to learn how to do these projects.
Thanks for your comment, Dianne! I’m so honored to be able to hang out with such talented people. <3
Oh, boy! What fun y’all had and great projects. Thanks so much for sharing…I really enjoy the photos of everyone. I think we need to get y’all some Pixie wings! I know the ladies would look adorable and would love to see the one with the rugged good looks in some! LOL!
Kathy, I have a long list of people I’d love to stamp with should Pixie wings ever become a reality. I’ll add you to the list! π Thanks so much for your comment!
